GhostofMeanMachine99 1 Posted December 29, 2008 oh yeah, no doubt. this game is whether minny can get max protection enough times/for a long enough time to complete some throws downfield into man coverage, and whether donovan can stay hot and not fizzle back to inaccuracy on a day when the running game will surely have a tough time getting production. a close game late has an advantage for both teams: the philly defense versus inexperienced jackson, or the minny offensive line versus the smaller philly defensive front. reid will need to stay patient with the running game, and childress will need to prove he is not as much a moron as we all think he is....those are two tough prospects for either set of fans! the experience of philly will be big, especially if peterson gets off early and the crowd is rowdy. i dont see the eagles folding or losing focus against an uphill situation [like, say, their pervious opponent did 24 hrs ago.] If the Eagle's defense can keep constant pressure on Jackson, he'll make a few mistakes and the Birds will win handily. But judging by what I saw yesterday, Jackson does a pretty good job at checking down to his tight end and back, and the Eagles don't exactly cover the tight end very well. I like McNabb throwing the ball in the dome. Sounds silly, but he has terrible accuracy in winter elements.
dhockster 0 Posted December 29, 2008 The one thing Andy Reid and Donovan McNabb have shown since they been together is that they win their first playoff game. They are 6-0 in first playoff games. That combined with the fact that their defense matches up well with Minnesota's offense and I think they pull out a close, low-scoring game. Now, next week will be different, since a) they are playing the Giants, and they are only 2-4 in second playoff games. But I do think they look good this week. Phurfur 70 Posted December 29, 2008 Don't worry. After handling the Giants and Steelers this year, there is not one single team that I would say scares me to play. Not saying I think we'd beat anybody, but there certainly isn't any team in the playoffs that the Eagles can't beat for one game if they play like they did yesterday or against the Giants two weeks ago. I don't care if it's home or away. I just don't think they're consistant enought o keep winning road games against good teams week after week. Maybe my confidence in that will change if they win a game or two, but as of now, I can't see it happening. I think that is true of any team, it is doing it 4 games in a row that will be hard. NewbieJr 541 Posted December 29, 2008 I think that is true of any team, it is doing it 4 games in a row that will be hard. Not really. Arizona and Minnesota would have practically no chance against the Giants, at Giants Stadium, for one game. Miami wouldn't have much of a chance in Pittsbugh or Tennessee. However, I agree that it would be difficulty to win four straight games on the road. For any team.

Maybe my confidence in that will change if they win a game or two, but as of now, I can't see it happening. Agree as well. And the other thing that scares me and they were talking about this on 610 today is the fact that Minny is tops against the run...Andy will put together a pass happy gameplan... Say it ain't so. Polish Rifle 0 Posted December 31, 2008 I was thinking that, too, for a fleeting moment... before I realized that since a balanced attack worked very well today, Andy Reid will most assuredly take Buckhalter out of the lineup and pass 70+% of the time next week and the Eagles will lose 31-3 and then he'll have some smartass remark at the press conference and the same old song and dance we've endured here for a decade. And still, some douchebags will say, "I remember when we didn't win any Superbowls before Andy Reid got here" and then I'll have to remind them that we haven't won any since... and the round and round we go! Hey Mepha$$to - you obviously suffer from "selective memory". I think the ###### said that the Eagles didn't compete before Any Reid. I think history will show that the Eagles have NEVER won a SB, whether it was Andy Reid or Ray Rhodes or ###### Vermeil. For some of us who are old enough to remember, the last world championship won by the Eagles was in 1949, before anyone ever heard of the "Super Bowl". And I think the ###### can remember the bad old days of the 70s when the Iggles were the laughing stock of the NFL and almost flew off to Phoenix. Ooops - sorry. I forgot. You're an "EXPERT". my bad
