The draft hasn't even begun and the Bears already had the best draft ever.

In Cutler we trust.

Not alot of picks due to the trade.

The key areas to focus on are:

S or CB - biggest weakness imo. Tillman is solid and they have a bunch of decent players that arent necessarily starters or need to step it up. Good potential, but an unknown group. Mike Brown is gone I think and vasher has sucked or has been hurt the past two years. Tillman could make a great safety if they draft a CB.

Pass Rush - The Bears had very little pressure despite blitzing often. The lack of pass rush put additional pressure on the LBs and DBs and they wore down in games and gave up big plays late. They need to get to the qb for the defence to return to its former glory. Mark Anderson has done little since his 12 sack rookie year. Alex Brown has done well. Ogun is highly overpaid and a likely FA next year. DT also needs more inside pressure.

WR - The obvious area of need, but not the most critical imo.

I hope that Delmas falls into the Bears' lap, but know that is not likely. I would like them to take a look at Sean Smith from Utah to fill their need at DB. I am a huge fan of Jarrett Dillard. His athleticism, hand, and route running more than make up for his small frame and lack of top end speed. I don't really think there are many players to fill the need of a pass rusher.

Was bummed to see Robiskie go at 36, but not suprised. SO...was pretty happy to see them get Iglesias at 99. I know they were trying for Robiskie, and traded down once he was gone.

I still don't feel like we have a #1 wr, and don't think Iglesias will be that guy either.

Hester - #1? really? he's fast, but come on

Davis - an Ok #2

Bennett/Iglesias - this could be interesting

other wr - not much

that leaves

Olsen @ TE

Forte @ RB

Not fantastic, but maybe Iglesias will surprise.

Nice pickup of Knox for the Bears as well. I know SOME people here are pretty big on him as well.

I can't believe u guys think that a #1 wr is not the highest need for the bears. They don't have a true #1 and they didn't draft one either. By having cutler it further increased our need for a true number 1 wr. Its like haveing one of the best skilled employee and giving him century old tool to accomplishh his job. I would have been a lot happier if the bears picked ramses with the 68th pick. Not saying that he would end up as a better player than gilbert, but he has the measurabless to possibly devellop to a #1 wr. To me they both are projects and I would have rather gambled on the position of most need then the position that I have decent talent. Ramses is 6'5" and about 220 with good speed. If u look at the nfl, all true #1 wr's are 6'3" or taller, except for SS. And ramses has the measurables and decent college carrer.

I agree with u. I was hoping that the bears would get Britt. I think he has most potential to become a true #1 wr. I liked robiske a little more than nicks. But I don't think either will be a true #1. The other player with big potential was ramses. Iglases is a good vale pick but but he is about the same as josh reed that u could have traded for for a 7th round pick. He is going to be an upgrade to davis. I think peterman out of NU could do the same as iglases. I hope rideoue and hass get an opportunity to play. I think bennet ceiling is curtis conway level. Good but not great.

Why is knox a good pickup? What do u project him to be? Name me another 5'8" impact wr? At best he will be an stand out ST player and make a few play on trick plays. Our glaring holes are wr and SS and we did not adress them with any impact players in the draft. Look at NE 2nd rd picks. They had 3 holes, s, cb, ot and they adressed al three positions with good candidates. I love angelo for the cutler move. But if u given stale or old ingredients to the best chef in the world he won't be able to cook a better meal than an avg chef with better ingredients.

Round 3, Pick 4 (68) (From Seahawks) Jarron Gilbert DE 6'5" 288 San Jose State

Analysis : I was not impressed with this pick, unless this guy steps up his game a bunch this will be a wasted pick. he has all the tools to suggest he could one day become a substantial performer, but IMHO is too lazy to make it happen.

Round 3, Pick 35 (99) (Compensatory selection) Juaquin Iglesias WR 6'1" 210 Oklahoma

Analysis : LOVED this pick, they got themselves a nice WR right here who can likely see the field very early on if only as a kick returner, but with Cutler at QB, he will make strides much faster. Great pick.

Round 4, Pick 5 (105) (From Seahawks) Henry Melton DE 6'3" 260 Texas

Analysis : The good news is that he is very talented and has speed to spare. He is a superb athelete who will give linemen fits in pass protection. The bas news is that his frame cannot tolerate any additional size, and he will very likely find himself completely absent against the run.

Round 4, Pick 19 (119) D.J. Moore CB 5'9" 192 Vanderbilt

Analysis : He will provide depth for now, his size is going to be his biggest obstacle to overcome, but if he shows the ability to jam NFL WR's and leap with them, he has all the speed in the world, no one is getting behind him....except for perhaps Heyward-Bey....

Round 5, Pick 4 (140) (From Seahawks through Broncos) Johnny Knox WR 6'0" 185 Abilene Christian

Analysis : This guy was drafted to do one thing, run like a bat out of hell straight down the field. He does not seem to know what a "route" is, but has the kind of burner-speed that will stretch defenses to their limit.

Round 5, Pick 18 (154) Marcus Freeman LB 6'0" 239 Ohio State

Analysis : This guy is something of an enigma. He has the right size, strength and speed, and even seems to have the right mindest and work ethic, but his production just never seemed to match these factors. I am curious to see jsut what they do with him and just how he fares at the NFL level, if he makes the team....

Round 6, Pick 17 (190) Al Afalava FS 5'11" 213 Oregon State

Analysis : A workout warrior he does seem to have the physical tools to range in the defensive backfield both in runn support and pass defense, if he can get himself under control and not overplay. Immediate starter on special teams, a freaking terror as a gunner....

Round 7, Pick 37 (246) (Compensatory selection) Lance Louis OG 6'2" 303 San Diego State

Analysis : Flew under the radar for the most part, but is a rather substantial athelete with raw speed, good footwork and great hands. Not sure why he fell this far to be honest. Likely a fixture on that OL at guard for years to come.

Round 7, Pick 42 (251) (Compensatory selection) Derek Kinder WR 6'0" 202 Pittsburgh

Analysis : A good athelete, he has respectable speed, not sure why a kid his size seemed to have so much trouble getting jammed at the line in college. I suspect he just needs some good coaching and could certainly make the roster.
