If you're wronged by something that is not your fault, then the government should help you get back to a point from which you can get back up and on your way. But if you fall into misery for something that's your own damn fault, screw you. Also, society should have ZERO SAY into any activity you do that does not negatively affect others.

Only the weak minded change their mind when times get tough. If you stand on character, principle, and morality, you stay the course even in rough times. It's what keeps people from stealing when they are starving. It's what keeps people pushing harder and striving even when all the storms of life are against you. It's what makes a college educated man become a ditch digger to put food on the table.

 

Unfortunately, character doesn't exist much in todays society. At least not like it used to.

 

And that day has come for me. And I refuse to change who I am because my circumstances have changed. I will just work harder to try and dig myself out of a situation that I did not create. If for no other reason than to show my kids that character still counts for something.

History 101

 

 

 

For those that don't know about history ... Here is a

 

condensed version:

 

 

 

Humans originally existed as members of small bands of

 

nomadic hunters/gatherers. They lived on deer in the

 

mountains during the summer and would go to the coast and

 

live on fish and lobster in the winter.

 

 

 

The two most important events in all of history were the

 

invention of beer and the invention of the wheel. The

 

wheel was invented to get man to the beer. These were the

 

foundations of modern civilization and together were the

 

catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct

 

subgroups:

 

 

 

1. Liberals, and

 

2. Conservatives.

 

 

 

Once beer was discovered, it required grain and that was

 

the beginning of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor

 

aluminum can were invented yet, so while our early humans

 

were sitting around waiting for them to be invented, they

 

just stayed close to the brewery. That's how villages

 

were formed.

 

 

 

Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to

 

B-B-Q at night while they were drinking beer. This was

 

the beginning of what is known as the Conservative movement.

 

 

 

Other men who were weaker and less skilled at hunting

 

learned to live off the conservatives by showing up for the

 

nightly B-B-Q's and doing the sewing, fetching, and hair

 

dressing. This was the beginning of the Liberal movement.

 

 

 

Some of these liberal men eventually evolved into women.

 

Those became known as girlie-men. Some noteworthy liberal

 

achievements include the domestication of cats, the

 

invention of group therapy, group hugs, and the concept of

 

Democrat voting to decide how to divide the meat and beer

 

that conservatives provided.

 

 

 

 

 

Over the years conservatives came to be symbolized by the

 

largest, most powerful land animal on earth, the elephant.

 

Liberals are symbolized by the jackass.

 

 

 

Modern liberals like imported

 

beer (with lime added), but most prefer white wine or

 

imported bottled water. They eat raw fish but like their beef

 

well done. Sushi, tofu, and French food are standard liberal

 

fare.. Another interesting evolutionary side note: most of

 

their women have higher testosterone levels than their

 

men. Most social workers, personal injury attorneys,

 

politicians, bureaucrats,journalists, dreamers

 

inHollywood and group therapists are liberals.

 

Liberals invented the designated hitter rule because it

 

wasn't fair to make the pitcher also

 

bat.

 

 

 

Conservatives drink domestic beer, mostly

red meat and still provide for their women. Conservatives

 

are big game hunters, rodeo cowboys, lumberjacks,

 

construction workers, firemen, medical doctors, engineers,

 

corporate executives, athletes, members of the military,

Conservatives who own companies hire other conservatives who

 

want to work for a living.

 

 

 

Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to govern the

 

producers and decide what to do with the production.

 

Liberals believe Europeans are more enlightened than

 

Americans. That is why most of the liberals remained in

 

Europe when conservatives were coming to America . They

 

crept in after the Wild West was tamed and created a

 

business of trying to get more for nothing.

Simple Google Search

 

He looks at who gives and aligns that data with political affiliation. His conclusion: conservatives give more money to charity than liberals. It is an interesting conclusion given the stereotype that conservatives are cold-hearted individualists while liberals are compassionate collectivists. I would have thought that the most obvious difference between those who give to charity and those who do not, is income. I assumed that low-income people give infrequently and high-income people give often. Turns out income has very little to do with it. Ideology is a much better predictor of whether a person gives to charity. It turns out a low-income conservative is more likely to donate to charity than a high-income liberal.

LOL, That's actually pretty true. Except the medical doctors, corp executives, etc. etc. parts. Most doctors tend to be liberal, as they're for advances in science and medicine. Since most conservatives thump bibles, they're not too keen on stem cell research and scientific advancement. Corporate executives fall on both sides of the fence. You have social liberals like Bill Gates, bleeding heart liberals like Steve Jobs, etc. etc. Obviously most of them are fiscally conservative.

 

Truth of the matter... 90% of liberals are fiscally conservative. I'm very fiscally conservative. I'm just socially liberal and find the belief in god absurd. That's why I tend to vote liberal more than conservative.

 

I agree with most everything else though. Conservatives are fat rednecks who drink crappy beer and shoot innocent animals for fun. The see their women as property, and generally inferior second class citizens (similar to how they see minority groups). They tend to hold blue collar jobs that require no formal education or brain activity (see lumberjack, construction worker, member of the military, etc.).

 

Liberals do all the thinking for the conservatives on the front line, pouring concrete, and chopping down trees. They tend to drink imported beer, as it tastes much better. They stayed in Europe while all the bible bangers were shooting Indians (and each other). Once the conservatives wiped out the Indians the liberals came over to help free the slaves.

But while the rich do give more in overall dollars, according to the Social Capital Community Benchmark Survey, people at the lower end of the income scale give almost 30 percent more of their income.
