Everyone remembers his terrible playoff game and now he starts off the 2009 season terribly. At this point I think fans are just piling on. Give him another week or two and if he looks this bad then he may infact be done. Delhomme made a quality career for himself as an undrafted FA and has had a few very good years. But the NFL, more than any other sport, is a NOW league. This is the same league where Shaun Alexander breaks the single season TD record and 2 years later cant get a job. The fact of the matter is that right NOW Delhomme SUCKS. I watched my share of Carolina games last year and he did not look good. The only success he had was due to the fact that Carolina had a dominant run game, was able to play with a lead most of the time, and Steve Smith being an absolute beast. In the playoff game last season and today he has been beyond terrible. Maybe its the elbow ... I dont know. But I do know that RIGHT NOW, he is the worst starting QB in the league. Maybe he can turn it around. That would be great for him but I dont see it. I think he's done. But thats JMHO. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
WhiteWonder 2,858 Posted September 13, 2009 like i said, i cut him a little slack for last season as he came off timmy john which is not a very common proceedure in the NFL. He still played better during the year than that final playoff game or this first game... if you want to attribute that to the ground game, I can understand... but lets give him just a week or two more before saying he is totally done.
