FantasyChick 0 Posted October 21, 2009 Thinking about grabbing him and dumping Walter. My WR's, besides Wayne, suck and I have been playing the carousel game here: Last week it was dump Berrian for Nicks or Maclin. Took Maclin thinking big game against OAK and my QB is McNabb. Big mistake last week. Cost me the game. So this week it was pick-up Moore for Maclin. I still have Roy E Williams. Surprised someone dumped Cotchery. Crabtree, Miles Austin, Mark Clayton, Holt, Evans and Mike Wallace are all still available too. Move to make is to dump Walter for Cotchery, right? Help a girl out here. It's my birthday! We Tigers 71 Posted October 21, 2009 I'm not sure why Cotchery would be on the waiver wire, unless someone wasn't paying attention. He's practicing today and might be back for this week's game.
Busted by the Feds 9 Posted October 21, 2009 The owner probably got spooked when Braylon had that game vs. Miami and Sanchez seemed to be throwing eveything his way. I'm a Cotchery owner myself, and he had a great start to the season, I'm having second thoughts that I should have traded him high. I needed him to break out too with what Steve Smith (CAR) has been doing lately. Now he's until I can see that Sanchez is looking at him too and not just Braylon all the time. But dropping him never entered my mind. To the original post : keep Walter. He's the poor man's Wes Welker. And I'd consider Austin before Cotchery right now. Cotchery might have a longer term value though, check their upcoming schedules.

If there's one thing that Oakland can normally do..it's play decent pass defense. I would dump Roy E. for Cotchery. I think at this point walter has more value...maybe? I dunno..it's a toss up
FantasyChick 0 Posted October 22, 2009 Someone picked up Miles in the meantime. Roy E seems determined to prove his worth by what he has been yapping in the media. I think I'll hold on to Roy E. I have to now actually. With Miles playing the way he did and Braylon being a Jet and already having a big game, I hope that means less double teaming for Cotchery and Williams. Dunno. Walter has killed me this year. He was hurt and missed time then one had the big game coming back and followed that up with stinkers so far. Schaub seems to focus on Daniels and Johnson and now Jacoby Jones seems to be getting a ton of looks making Walter worthless. It has been tough determing who has more value here. Someone dropped Eddie Royal to get Hakeem Nicks and dropped Massoqui to get Austin Miles so those guys are available now.
Big Blue 06 196 Posted October 22, 2009 While it's surprising that Cotch is on the WW, its like my friend said. "Cotchery is booty; maybe I can dump him on (the league idiot). With Edwards here and Sanchez struggling a bit, maybe people got tired of waiting for Cotchery to get back. I'd grab him up and stash him, just in case. elayton 0 Posted October 22, 2009 I need Cotch to come back and perform better than before Butterfingers arrived...

Law 251 Posted October 24, 2009 I'm not sure why Cotchery would be on the waiver wire, unless someone wasn't paying attention. He's practicing today and might be back for this week's game. Not sure who's paying attention here and who isn't, but Cotch is ruled out for week 7 and has a bye week 9. He did nothing weeks 5 and 6 (hurt). That's 4 weeks of nothing but a wasted spot. He had 4 good games to start the season, but still only had 1 TD in those 4 games. Now, whenever he plays again, he'll have Edwards to contend with. Edwards will be the #1, especially in the red zone. This all on a run first team with a rookie QB. Forgive me for not being surprised he's on the waiver wire. I couldn't wait and I'm sure others couldn't either. Not everyone has a long bench to just stash players. They perform or they have to go.

madd futher mucker 36 Posted October 24, 2009 Yes Cotchery is ruled out for Sunday, and yes I'd pick him up and drop Walter. I believe Cotchery when healthy is a borderline WR2, has always been undervalued, and that the Edwards addition will only HELP his stats - during the stretch run he could be golden. IMO Walters stands a pretty good chance of losing looks to Jacoby Jones who is finally beginning to make an impact, is significantly more talented and is a bigger play threat. I wouldn't be wasting time getting opinions here, I'd be snagging him right now.
DamageIncVacc 6 Posted October 24, 2009 On the waiver wire in my league and considering I think thats where he belongs ( in smaller leagues 12 teams or under) . Hes hurt, hasnt played in a while, not the #1 anymore and on a team that has a rookie QB and is a running team. and hes out this week and then has a bye in 2 weeks. odds are he not playing much until after the bye. I would rather have most of those guys who are on your WW then Cotch.
