gridiron whirlwinds 10 Posted November 14, 2009 Does anybody here think that WR jacoby Jones has a shot at moving up to the #2 WR at Houston. I am thinking about picking him up in my league....it is a TD ONLY league and my wWR are sidney Rice and Nate Burleson and Dallas Clark after watching highlights of this kid, he just seems way more explosive and talented that Kevin Walter. Does anybody else here feel this?
deejsixer 0 Posted November 14, 2009 No, Walter is a more polished receiver where Jones is more of a big play type of guy. The Texans will be using more 3 wr sets now with Daniels out, so it does not really matter who is tabbed the #2 and #3 reciever. Jones is just more cut out to play in the slot. gridiron whirlwinds 10 Posted November 14, 2009 Looks like 2 for Daniels and just me for Jacoby. Would like to hear some more people's thoughts here...so if you read this, please post your thoughts....thanks

dmac37 1 Posted November 15, 2009 Not sure about this year yet, next couple of weeks should tell a lot. But I think he is a great flyer to grab in dynasty
madd futher mucker 36 Posted November 15, 2009 I sure do. Jacoby Jones is much more talented than Walter. In addition, Jones has looked better than Walter recently. Just my opinion, but since he came back from his injury, Walter is not playing anywhere near the level that he did last year, and Jones could EASILY pass him up. Will it happen for sure? I don't know. but if you ask me who I'd rather have on my dynasty league right now, it would be Jacoby Jones. Unfortunately, I didn't have quite enough patience and cut him. The next week, somebody out-bid me and he is now rostered elsewhere. I'm pretty sure I'll regret that cut.
gridiron whirlwinds 10 Posted November 15, 2009 I think I am going to try to pick him up next week. He is just so explosive and he can take it to the house every time he touches it. He has also made a big play in the passing game for like the last 3 games. He would be my number 4 WR anyway....so why not roster him before he BREAKS out......I am in a dynasty so he could be a keeper next year....who knows. Without Daniels, Schaub will substitute Walter for that player. You saw it last week in the 2nd half against Colts. Schaub went to who in crunch time? Walter. He caught 5 all in the 2nd half. Walter is a huge red zone target too. He is much more a sure thing than the talented JJ. The latter is iffy, but yes, he is definitely more explosive. Too chancy for my liking. Give me the sure 10 points guy who has upside for 2 TDs any day.

He very well could be Schaub's guy in the red zone, but Jacoby is about the same size as Walter. I just have a hunch that as the season goes on, that Jacoby becomes more involved each week and i like him as a Dynasty player. Since I am looking for a number 4 receiver....I will always favor the upside as I beleive Jones could become a star so to speak, where I believe Walter is what he is. Jones has more TD's so far and I think Schaub is gaining more confidence in him. Also he could break a return for a TD any time and I am in a TD league. This is just my opinion. I like JJ's potential too. You could be right here too. I have toyed picking up JJ before I picked up KW, but went with the latter. Good luck in your decision. Since you are able to keep him for next year, I agree, that is the right thing to do. This year is different IMO.
Super Cubs 156 Posted November 15, 2009 If you have the room to add him do it. Alot of fans that call in to Houston radio think Jacoby desevers a shot at the #2 spot. As a Houston fan I think of Jocoby as another Andre Davis. He's not really a #2 wr but does have the ability to have some good games. If he's going to be your 4th wr why not take a shot and be the guy that said I told you so. Just courious who would you drop to get him?

Bbronco 0 Posted November 17, 2009 I know this may be off topic since I am not in the same league as you, but I have jacoby in a return yard league and he is top 10 in wr's up to this point. I think he shows in his returns and also some of his long catches that he has promise to be a nice 2nd option to Johnson.
gridiron whirlwinds 10 Posted November 17, 2009 He could really loosen the coverage up on Andre, IMO.....if they use him more. I think the dude has some serious skills. He used to drop alot of balls, but he seems to be better at that.....I guess time will tell.....I am pulling for him.
