yes, you should buy stuff you dont have, then hit the tavern.

 

you can do a pantload of quests because you are a very low level.

Did you check the email from when you signed up, Ed? You get a free "gift" of 10 shrooms for confirming your email. But honestly...gear aside, I can't find a real reason to spend shrooms. And I get one or two shrooms a day from the dungeons so they almost balance out.

I just beat the level 3 dungeon ZOmbie, I got gloves 24 armor +60 luck (Giant Finger Gloves of the Master Nose Picker)

Why not just pick your own opponents? Go through the hall of fame, double click on a poor scout, check his stats, then attack him.
