Does Britt surpass Andre Johnson this year?

Recommended Posts

A trade doesn't have to be $10 for $10. $10 for $8 is ok. Sometimes $40 for $35 is even ok. But $15 for $40 trades should always be vetoed.

If you're talking about auction format, I don't think it's that simple.

Britt was at most a $3 player at the beginning of the season. Chad Ochocinco was probably $7 (out of $100). You could make a strong case for flipping that now. And, values at the end of an auction are always depressed, so comparing value within an auction is flawed. AND, values that are comparable at the beginning of the season fluctuate significantly by mid season.

Back on topic: No way does Britt surpass Andre this year from this point on. It could happen, but I'd much rather have Andre. Teams will gameplan more against Britt after that performance. But I do think that Britt will be better than guys like Colston and both Steve Smiths.

But if 2 people in our league traded Britt for Johnson, I wouldn't veto that either. Britt might just keep it up, especially since they have to worry about Johnson. It's a great scenario for both players.

In fact, only 2 posters in this thread that have over 5,000 posts have even given an opinion. Me, and cbfalcon, who recommended you rename yourself "bbong" because you're high.

The fact that we think that, while you and your supporters are a bunch of guys that mostly have less than 100 total posts...well that should tell you all you need to know about the trade.

Ah, yes, when all else fails, don't answer the question, ignore the substance, and pull out the nuclear weapon! The "I have more posts than you" argument! Well, I guess that means you're right. :) We all know that in the pantheon of sports analysis, volume of posts is the best determinant of right versus wrong. ;)

I have agreed with you that the trade clearly favors one side. I say Andre getter. You say ..... ?

Despite my lack of posts, I'll still venture a thought anyway. If an auction were held today with $200, I think Andre still goes for around $40.

Britt would be $25-30.

Marshall around $30-35.

So a package deal of Britt or Marshall plus Thomas Jones in exchange for Andre would depend on whether you think Jones should is worth at least $10 or so. I'd still rather have Andre, but I could see someone taking Marshall and Jones if they were desperate for a RB. Maybe even more likely if they also had Jamaal.

I can't believe people keep falling for this ######!

Thank you.

I swear, it's as if the guys that think the trade is legit don't understand what makes a league fair and fun. FF isn't just about ripping people off like they owe you something.

And if I'm the commish, I can just over rule a decision made by the league, then THAT is a league you should want to play in.

Can the commish also change the scoring system whenever he wants despite what the league as a whole decided? Damn right he can. I do it all the time.

Yes, as commish, I can certainly change the rules mid-stream to fit my bidding. But I don't. I can also change your lineup at 3:15 on Sunday. But I don't.

What's your point?

Exactly! I am happy to see you agreeing with and sharing a beer with a guy who has fewer than 1000 posts.

So, anyone want to actually say what they think Britt would be worth if a $200 auction were held today?

I said $25-30. Do I hear $31?

Money? If we got money for our posts, I'd have way more than 5,000 and you'd have way less than 97.

8 titles over 12 years and you call this trade fair? You must be playing with family members.

Huh? I asked what Kenny Britt would be worth if a $200 auction were held today.

And I never said the trade was fair. I said I thought it favored the guy getting Andre. We still don't know who you think gets the better deal, but I suspect you agree with me.

8 titles over 12 years? Are you talking about you or me? Where did that come from? I just asked if anyone thought Kenny Britt would be worth more than $30 in a $200 auction.

Why would anyone give me money for posts? Sign me up for that website!

To use an analogy, if you trade away $10 and get $10 back, you are cool if it happens, and cool if it doesn't. It's when you are giving away $5 and getting back $10 that you'll be pissed if the trade doesn't go through.

This is what you think Kenny Britt is worth in a $200 auction?

When the trade is that screwy, there really isn't any need.

If we were trading $10 for $12, rosters matter. But not when someone is trading $3 for $25.

OMG... i have a headache after reading this post and subsequent responses... one guy claims a trade should have a veto and then gives everyone some very intense and complicated math problems that include dollar signs as his reasoning. Now I'm no math major but I think I would want the $3 side of the bet... don't want the $25... you know what that taxes are on $25???? Who is with me???

All players trade value changes along with their weekly play, A owner can over value and under value as they see fit.

If an owner today wanted to trade Fitz for Britt(as example), I see no problem with the reasoning.

I think for some of us the  is more than just a cartoon perhaps?

I really am curious what people think Britt's value is right now. I don't think he surpasses Andre Johnson, but I do think he's right up there with guys like Boldin and Jennings. This is assuming he doesn't get suspended.
