brandonhardy 0 Posted May 16, 2011 The screen on my Sony VAIO is very dim. And no it's not the brightness setting as every other technician has asked. I replaced the LCD screen this morning but to no avail. Since the screen is new, I've ruled out the inverter and the backlight. It's almost like the "Display Off" button is stuck somehow. When I press that button there is no change in the display whatsoever. Any ideas? Model No. VPCCW17FX

Gepetto 991 Posted May 17, 2011 You don't have it on "power saver" mode, do you?
brandonhardy 0 Posted May 17, 2011 Nope...all the settings are where they should be. I can connect to an external monitor now so I'm thinking it's not an issue with the motherboard. And like I said, it shouldn't be the backlight or inverter.
