Loc 0 Posted September 21, 2011 So what is everyone thinking about Gabbert. I am thinking of dumping one of my low end running backs to pick him up. He might be another Cam Newton. I am really looking at dumping M. Lynch.
mobb_deep 921 Posted September 21, 2011 I wouldn't waste a spot on him, personally. The Jags have horrible WR's and Gabbert needs a lot of work. He has the skills and arm to be a good QB, but pocket presence and decision making needs quite a bit of improvement. I wouldn't pick him up, unless your back-up QB was someone like Alex Smith or Jason Campbell.
kutulu 1,715 Posted September 21, 2011 If it really was Del Rio's call to send Garrard packing, he should be fired right now. Why wait till the season is over.
Ray_T 792 Posted September 21, 2011 If it really was Del Rio's call to send Garrard packing, he should be fired right now. Why wait till the season is over. I suggested canning him the day he released Garrard. Terrible move. At the very least, he could have started Garrard until Gabbert was ready. now they are stuck with a guy who has amost no experience and a rookie who is probably a year away from being ready. now they are in a position where they potentially ruin the rookie by putting him in the spotlight before he is ready. ACL's 0 Posted September 21, 2011 I just can't see Gabbard being fantasy relevant this year. He may have a couple of decent games but it's pretty easy to see his talent level is not near Newton's. Jacksonville is making a great move here, but he can only be seen as a real long shot flier for fantasy.
jrbdmb 28 Posted September 21, 2011 If it really was Del Rio's call to send Garrard packing ... You know that this was dictated by the front office (just like when Leftwich was released) to save money. Strange organization - tell the coach "win now or else" then force him to dump the QB who gives them the best chance to win this year.
