TimHauck 3,516 Posted November 1, 2011 I've read that it looks like Blount should play next week. Anyone heard anything different? With slim pickens at RB, is anyone looking at adding Lumpkin?

What for? I already have a bench full of scrubs that dont play. On the other hand, I could sure go for a Blumpkin or a Grumpkin.

Phurfur 70 Posted November 1, 2011 LeGarrette Blount will return for Bucs Sunday Coach Raheem Morris confirmed Monday that LeGarrette Blount (knee) will play in Sunday's game against the Saints. As expected. Blount hasn't played since spraining his MCL in Week 5, but should be close to 100 percent now. He'll have all the early-down work to himself after Earnest Graham suffered a season-ending Achilles' tendon injury in Week 7. Additionally, Blount said Tuesday that he expects to see a lot of work on third downs. He is shaping up as a good bet to reach at least 20 touches Sunday. Matt Mueller 148 Posted November 1, 2011 Saints are a great matchup on paper. I've got him plugged into my flex spot.
TimHauck 3,516 Posted November 1, 2011 Obviously Lumpkin isn't going to save anyone's season, but at this point anyone who has a chance of seeing increased time could have value. Reading the reports on Blount severely limit it, but honestly even a clear-cut #2 is hard to find on many teams. Last week I picked up both Alfonso Smith and Helu, so IMO Lumpkin has more value than both of them. I'm planning on dropping them both, but have about 4 other guys ahead of Lumpkin on my WW priority list.
Matt Mueller 148 Posted November 1, 2011 'With Earnest Graham (injured reserve, Achilles) out, LeGarrette Blount expects to be the Bucs' primary third-down back going forward. We're skeptical Blount is capable of handling the role in the long-term. He's really just an early-down bruiser that has a total of nine catches in 18 career NFL games. Look for the Bucs to quickly realize that Kregg Lumpkin is a better option in passing situations. But for now, Blount gets a little boost in PPR formats.' Players like Blount, who have lots of power are usually good quality third down backs. The issue would be in having another RB that can go in a couple of series to give him enough rest during the middle of the game.
