Matt Mueller 146 Posted November 1, 2011 Not sure but Tolbert looks to be in line for carries: 'Appearing on NFL Network's Around the League Live, Jason LaCanfora suggested Mike Tolbert (hamstring) will resume starting and "get a lot of carries" this week against the Packers. While Ryan Mathews' (groin) status is "up in the air for right now," the Chargers "feel good" about Tolbert being able to play this week. Tolbert will have to pass tests on Wednesday, but it sounds like he's being counted on as the primary runner for Week 9. drapg 0 Posted November 2, 2011 dammit. According to the San Diego Union-Tribune's Kevin Acee, "it is feared" Ryan Mathews (groin) will be unavailable for Week 9. Acee is one of the most reliable beat writers in the country, so his word should not be taken lightly. With San Diego's Wednesday practice coming less than 48 hours after Monday's loss, Mathews will almost certainly sit out. That means the first real clue as to his Sunday status will come on Thursday.
