Who to Start WR?

Recommended Posts

Here are my players for our standard 1 point for 10 yards, 6pts for TD league:

Bowe

L. Robinson

Gaffney

D. Thomas

Holmes

Julio Jones

I am leaning on Robinson(even though the site has him ranked way low), and scratching my head between Gaffney, Jones, or Bebe. I don't want Kyle Orton to decide my superbowl fate and Holmes just doesn't get enough chances w/ the run-oriented Jets. Please let me know your thoughts and I will answer yours back

Thanks,

TN

Holmes & Gaffney are fairly consistent

Robinson is on fire, but w/ Austin & I think they will get up big early, he may finally get back to reality.

Bowe scares me to death but if Orton does play & they are going to be behind, he is a definate boom/bust.

Jones (when fully healthy) has been great. Is is back or hammy better?

Thomas has Tebow throwing it, so......

I would probably go with Robinson & Jones

I would go with LRob and Gaffney with Jones close behind.

Would it change your opinion at all if I tell you that I have Gonzalez already penciled in starting and the guy I am playing against has Matt Ryan? Basically taking all of his targets away with the exception of White?

I like Robinson and Gaffney. I dont like to look at the opponents players to affect my choices. I want to put the most points up either way.

I actually like Dwayne Bowe the best here. He continues to see almost double digit targets each week, even with Palko at QB. The Chiefs will almost certainly be playing from behind and the Packers pass defense isn't very good. They give up the 4th most fantasy points to WR's this season. Kyle Orton starting can only make Bowe better. Gut feeling but Bowe finds the end zone this week.

For the other spot I am between Julio Jones and Laurent Robinson. Robinson scares me because he only played about half the snaps last week. Yes, he was still very productive. But can you continue to count on him when he sees 30 snaps a game and Austin and Dez are seeing close to 60? I think I'd lean towards Julio, but he also has some nagging injuries which could make him risky. I just expect him to see more chances as long as he stays on the field.

Ugh, just when I thought I had my lineup set!!! YOu are making really good points, and being from Denver I am naturally biased against Orton, so there is definitely some merit on why you like Bowe. I am thinking that if Bowe goes off on my bench, I definitely would feel okay about it because I want Orton to convince me. I am even more convinced about Julio staying in my lineup and will have to decide between Bowe, Gaffney, and Robinson...
