jocstrap 8 Posted August 10, 2012 Just drew the #1 pick in my $400 league We get to keep 1 player from the previous year drafted after round 2. That leaves me with Dez Bryant, AJ Green, Ingram, or Spiller I think I'm declaring AJ Green as my keeper, then going with Foster/Rice/McCoy or should I go with Brady and the easiest NFL schedule or Rodgers? Then I wouldn't get my first rb until the 37th player off the board

WhiteWonder 2,738 Posted August 13, 2012 keep AJ, draft Rice can't tell you if you should go rodgers unless you expand upon your league scoring. if its 6 point passing TD's and non ppr for some reason then yea, i might draft a-rod

jocstrap 8 Posted August 17, 2012 Live slow drafting starting this morning. Remember, we all had to keep 1 player from the previous year after round #2. So he's actually the 13th player off the board. WE start 2 rb's and only 2 wr's plus a flex option WR/RB/TE. With only having to start 2 wr's I was willing to wait and get depth at rb. kept AJ Green 1.1 Arian Foster 2.12 - Doug Martin 3.1 - Jamaal Charles at 3.1 you must keep a player from your roster the following year - that's why I chose Charles after Martin 4.12 Phillip Rivers 5.1 Pierre Garcon and there were lots of solid wr/te options out there. I just have a feeling. so that's where I stand as of right now

I was very pleased in the outcome I think you have a top 5 QB, 2 solid WRs and a top notch flex in Gore or Bradshaw and absolutely no wide receivers. $91 seems extremely high for Gore, IMO, and you could have gotten a good RB to put in the flex for about $30 less. If you then used the $30 on WR, you could turn Antonio Brown into an Andre Johnson type or kept Brown and made Torrey Smith into a Hakeem Nicks or AJ type. Either way, I think you'll be in good shape.
WhiteWonder 2,738 Posted September 1, 2012 i dont get gore for 91 dollars either. you seem to live in the past with your RB selections. like BB said, that money could have been better spent on WR. hell, even if you really love brown and smith, you could ahve turned titus young into something better. His name came out of the hat earlier and I had nobody at that time. There weren't a ton of runnig backs in the pool after 4 years of keepers. You never know how much players are going for. I think the next bid was like $70 so I did overbid a little. Maybe he can produce early and I can trade him. We shall see - SF still should run the ball often and Gore should see plenty of touches. AJ Green would also be a mid 3rd rounder. So on both teams you have 4 guys who should go by the mid 3rd round

WhiteWonder 2,738 Posted September 3, 2012 So what do you guys think of my auctiion team (one post above)? i think i saw that mess of a post and shut my computer off in all seriousness you fielded a good team by ignoring the tight end position. but a league that starts 2 defenses, kickers, tight ends and 1 idp? also you did not specify how many owners in the league but if you are able to have those 7 RB's and WR's I have to assume it is no more than 10 owners, Possibly
jocstrap 8 Posted September 3, 2012 So what do you guys think of my auctiion team (one post above)? That's some focked up league you're in! Crazy starting lineups, probably makes if fun though! Vick is great until he goes down Luck he's going to have to score b/c the defense sucks so bad Not liking Ponder at this point until proven otherwise Qb's - having to start 2...I would say you're middle of the pack RB-s McFadden - yes yes yes then ouch - he'll be great until it happens again Trent Richardson - 300 touches - that's all you can ask for Not very deep here though, and I'm a running back guy to bring home the title WR's HOly Moly you're stout here. Probably the best in your league by far IMO. Maybe you could trade your #5 wr for a #3 rb:) This is where you need to league - wr points each week. You'll have a shot if 3 of them end up top 10. If not, your focked. Te's servicable A solid team - QB and RB might hold you back from getting the title IMO

Gepetto 1,368 Posted September 4, 2012 It's an 8 team league. My plan was to also get DeMarco Murray and Stevan Ridley and Matt Ryan but they got bid up so high I couldn't pull the trigger. I tried though. I went pretty hard for Jimmy Graham. Also wanted to get Aaron Hernandez but decided he wasn't worth it. Appreciate the responses. Joc, good luck, I've never played in more than a 12 team league, so I have no idea how you did.
