Okay so Alex is good but what is he doing playing two guitars at once?

 

What sound is he trying to do with the second guitar that's on a stand?

Is it just for background?

Hard to tell with such crappy audio. If I had to guess, I'd say the guitar on the stand is in an open tuning so he can just strum it and get a chord without fingering any notes. He does this to create a bed for him to solo over. That, or the one on the stand is through a bunch of effects and is just generating noise when he strums it for atmospheric effect.

oh yeah, the whole album!

 

 

didn't even know the whole album was a story until i finally found the lyrics a month after listening to it in the car. it's not as great as 2112 but it's still kinda cool.
