chobani 3 Posted August 24, 2014 I will make it simple. 10 team league. 1 point ppr league. Can either start 2RBs/2WRs or 1RBs/3WRs. RBs I have are Murray ,Ball ,Foster, Woodhead, West and Dunbar WRs I have are Megatron, Crabtree, Patterson,Floyd,Torrrey Smith and Hunter Other team's WRs are D.Thomas, Marshall, Jeffery, V. Jackson, K. Benjamin, Stills Other team's RB's are Ellington, J. Bell, Miller, Gerhart, Pierce, Sankey Megatron has same week 9 bye week as Jeffery. Opinions welcome. Should I accept this trade? A regular weekly lineup of Murray, Ball, Megatron and Jeffrey in a ppr is what I am liking, just worried if one of my starting RBs gets injured, but then again I could start 3 WRs and 1 RB if I wanted. Advice is appreciated. Thanks.
tigeru 65 Posted August 24, 2014 The first 5 words you said you'd make it simple. What happened?
chobani 3 Posted August 24, 2014 What's not simple about it? If I didn't put anything then I would be asked anyways. I didn't put anything that didn't pertain to what I was asking. Maybe it is too much for you.
GS3K 12 Posted August 24, 2014 I'm just scratching my head at how you got Megatron, Montee Ball and DeMarco Murray all on the same roster. My advice is don't give up your running back depth, wide receivers are a dime a dozen.
49erGold 36 Posted August 24, 2014 I don't like that it would leave you 1 injury away from disaster at RB. I think you should get a RB in return he has depth... so maybe a RB/WR swaps. Jeffery + Gerhart or Shankey and deal Foster + WR2 (Patterson unless you score return yds and like Crabtree the most but you can make an argument for the others). Ideal Jeffery + Gerhart for Foster + Patterson. Foster injury history means he is no lock to start + RB Ball inexperience/hype will see. If you like Jeffery then do it he is safer but get insurance RB even Shankey who likely starts better than 2 handcuffs who might not play. I'd drop Lunbar for Hillman if available ww or do a smaller trade.... I guess, just cause you got Murray but maybe swapping West for Hillman small trade. If your convince Lunbar is 2RB its decent player. If you get Hillman + Gerhart/Shankey think your fine with this deal and have really solid lineup.
chobani 3 Posted August 24, 2014 Thanks guys! Excellent advice. I like the answers you both provided. Thank you so much!
phillygrrl08 139 Posted August 25, 2014 It would be nice if you could get VJax and J. Bell in exchange...see if you could parlay Foster and Crabtree or Patterson into something that got you both. If he wants Foster badly enough, maybe he'd bite.
jaebr29 5 Posted August 25, 2014 Other than Calvin, Patterson has the highest upside of any of your receivers. You have enough depth there to keep him stashed if he doesn't flash, but if he does you have a gold mine. I wouldn't include him in a trade. If he takes off, you'd be kicking yourself.
Cuse9 129 Posted August 25, 2014 I would not do it. Foster has the chance to be the #1 overall player in fantasy. IF he can stay healthy you are sitting on a gold mine down the road. You have pretty good balance, so you don't need Jeffery. I would stick with the guy that has a higher ceiling. In this case I think it's Foster, especially in PPR.
chobani 3 Posted August 25, 2014 Thanks everyone! Great input! I think keeping Foster is the way to go. I appreciate all the help everyone!
polecatt 478 Posted August 25, 2014 Take it. Foster is an injury waiting to happen and is your 3rd RB. Even if he is healthy he won't be the Foster of old on a poor offense. Jeffery gives you a big upgrade at your 2nd WR. He has huge upside. He could very easily be a top 5 WR this season. I would take him. The bye weeks are no concern. Calvin has week 9 regardless. Your week 9 WR options wouldn't change at all.
jeffster 1 Posted August 25, 2014 Don't do it, in a full 1-point PPR league Foster may very well be the top RB this year. I wouldn't trade him for almost anything. Also, how did you get Megatron and Foster on the same team? In a PPR league no less. Must be some keepers at play here?
chobani 3 Posted August 25, 2014 Thanks for the advice. I have no idea how I got Foster, he just fell to me and I like to draft based on value and upside. I had the 6th pick in the non keeper draft and after running backs went first 5 I took Megatron. My next pick was Murray but then when it came back to me Ball was still there. Everyone passed on Foster, and though I probably could have taken another WR to fill up my positions, Foster was still there and I couldn't pass up his value and plus I seen him as insurance for the other two RBs. After those 4 picks I started loading up on Wrs in my 3rd tier and then picked up Matt Ryan in round 9. The league has always been standard scoring until this year and I think people were lost and started reaching for tier 2 and 3 WRs because of ppr and forgot about Foster. 49erGold 36 Posted August 25, 2014 1 pt ppr pretty sure Jeffery gets more catches than Foster... so not sure how that helps the argument for Foster. Good luck and Foster was a draft steal low 2nd or high 3rd is his floor.
