TennisMenace 156 Posted October 5, 2014 I noticed the Bengals have one of the worst yds per carry average on rushing defense at 5.1 yds per carry, but they have only been rushed upon 67 times, lowest in the league. Even with the bye week, that still is very low. To their credit, they have only given up 2 TDs in their 4 games. Combine this with the stat that their passing defense is top 3 material. It seems to me, the best way to beat the Bengals is to rush more and pass less. So why aren't teams doing it?
SexyRexy 60 Posted October 5, 2014 teams have been playing from behind.... same as when teams are always ahead of certain teams their pass D's rank well but it's not necessarily bc of their play. bengals are just good overall.
Squintz82 45 Posted October 5, 2014 Skewed stat as mentioned above. They have been playing with a lead, and focusing more on pass defense.
SaintsInDome2006 128 Posted October 5, 2014 The Bengals are shaping up to be a top all year defense and owners facing them need to think about benching some players against them, as with the Seahawks and Panthers last year. High ypc but few attempts amounts to the 10th fewest FFPA, and that would be a lot lower if it weren't for Forsett's good game against them week 1.
