stonewall 647 Posted January 14, 2015 Okay....this is assuming that he plays next year in Denver, and appears healthy. Before his late-season meltdown, I heard chatter on here about people taking him in early first round next season. Personally, I took him at 1.02 this year and got L. Bell and Gronk at the 2/3 turn, then E. Sanders later on. Won the ship....but didn't play Manning. I saw the writing on the wall and subbed in Ryan, who I had been holding as insurance. At any rate, I am already wondering how far his redraft value for next season has dropped because of the horrible last few games. Do you think that name-value will keep him in the late first-early second, or that he will fall lower than that? Would you draft him next season?
Magnificent Bastard 190 Posted January 14, 2015 Well, if you're in a league where you have Manning and Matt Ryan, do whatever you want.
stonewall 647 Posted January 14, 2015 Well, if you're in a league where you have Manning and Matt Ryan, do whatever you want. Ahhh....the obligatory and always helpful soft-league comment. No thread is complete without it. So, your league doesn't allow trades? Never bought low on a guy after a few bad games? Never insured your starting QB? Fascinating. In actuality, it's the toughest redraft league I have ever played in....hard core ff'ers that leave no stone unturned. Would love to have you in too, and see how you fared.
Voltaire 4,564 Posted January 14, 2015 You must have psychic powers. I was just thinking myself that what page one needed was another 2 or 3 Peyton Manning threads. Focus. Focus. If he doesn't retire, somebody else can have him. I'm not going to put him on my draft radar at a place higher than I know somebody else will bite.

Magnificent Bastard 190 Posted January 15, 2015 Ok, at what point was Ryan a buy low candidate? And when did you have your doubts about Manning? Was it after his 4 TD game in week 12? How many teams in your tough as nails league? Who did the guy who traded Ryan start in his place? Who did you trade for him? Defend yourself or scram
stonewall 647 Posted January 15, 2015 Ok, at what point was Ryan a buy low candidate? Come on, Bastard....you followed the NFL this season. Particularly, Ryan's mid-season slump? And when did you have your doubts about Manning? I had very little doubt.....although a sliver of doubt remained from late last season, when he faltered a bit & turned in a performance that lost me the week 15 playoff game. However, since Peyton is only one good hit from the nursing home, I always carry QB insurance on him, and felt I was upgrading. Was it after his 4 TD game in week 12? Following either week 10 or 11, I believe. How many teams in your tough as nails league? 12 Who did the guy who traded Ryan start in his place? Cutler Who did you trade for him? Cutler, Crabs, & Benjamin for Ryan and Julio (who was also slumping) Defend yourself or scram. Good one....I like that.

tanatastic 2,061 Posted January 17, 2015 He shouldnt fall at all and is guaranteed to finish no worse than QB3. He wasnt hurt at all, that was just excuses for embarrassment. Peyton does what he does wich is have MVP regular seasons then awful playoffs. Easy 4500 36 12 minimums.

ralphster 274 Posted January 18, 2015 Too much up in the air to value PM right now. Let DEN find a coach and sort out the oc and then you might get a handle on value. We must assume that Peyton don't wanna go out like that, so injury/record chasing aside it's hardly a stretch to think that he would NOT be back to lead an offense that he and the horses designed around him. PM has aspirations for NFL ownership after his playing days are done and who else better to lock him in than former player Elway?
