BudBro 117 Posted March 19, 2015 from an email no less!!! these private placement project "opportunities" ads are everywhere right now. the one you received is for the "project end" after the platform trading has generated funds to spend. they are touted as "private" and "by invitation only" type of investments. a "player" puts $100 mil into one of the 2 or 3 big banks, which backs or insures his money for the $100 mil, putting $0 of his investment at risk. tier 1 pp platform trades of "fresh cut" bonds are contract negotiated through an arbitrage system that pays the bank and the ppp investor. end buyers are supposedly insurance companies, etc. returns are quoted to range from 50% to 100%....wait for it....weekly. they are 40 week trading programs, and are scheduled to make up to $6B on a $100M investment with zero liability. investor gets to keep like 20% (what's 20% of $6B...1.2B?). now, here's where the ad you received comes into play. the rest of the funds must be invested in productive projects and companies to stimulate economic growth. the ad is seeking projects that the ppp investor can invest his proceeds received from the trades. investor, for instance, gives your company $20M for a 40% stake in your company helping you make your widgets. this is also, supposedly, how giant infrastructure projects are funded.
