gocolts 300 Posted May 13, 2015 A buddy of mine claims this one, not sure if he is pulling our leg or not though yet. Still, funny shtt. ●Elderly couple come in."Can I help you?""Yes, we are going through Ferguson MO this weekend, what do you have to kill a N-word?" ●Shady looking guy "Gimme your cheapest, high capacity assault rifle.""Ummmm, no." (I can deny any sale for any reason without fear of repurcussions from HQ. Would rather side with caution than tragedy) ●Sweet looking elderly lady"I need help changing the cylinders on my Bodyguard (an automatic handgun)"Confused, I ask if she meant the Puma (a revolver that comes with two cylinders to shoot two different ammo types."You don't know your head from your ass!" Leaves a full cart of items in my area and walks out. Calls HQ the next day. She's no longer allowed in the store. ●Business class guy"My neighbor's dog keeps getting in my trash. Do you have something quiet I can shoot the dog with and not kill him. My pellet gun isn't strong enough and I'm afraid I'll miss with the slingshot. It can't be loud, I live in city limits.""Sir, talk to your neighbor, I'm not letting you kill someone's pet." ●Dozens of men/women"Can you just run my name before we do paperwork to see if I can even own a gun?""No." This is nearly a daily request. Super illegal. If this goes over well, I'll post more sometime. The amount of stupidity I encounter is mind boggling.
gocolts 300 Posted May 13, 2015 Here is one he says happened to his co-worker, not him. This one didn't happen to me. Co worker told me about this.3 or 4 guys and two girls come in. All high as . After much quiet talk a decision was made. Until they all took money out and piled it together on the counter and began fighting over who would be the best candidate to pass the background check. Magnificent Bastard 191 Posted May 13, 2015 Just curious, why is it illegal to run the background check to see if the person is eligible? I'm sure it's a good reason, can't figure it out.

You have to do that as part of the process to sell them a gun anyway.

Magnificent Bastard 191 Posted May 13, 2015 I will ask him. I'm thinking it has something to do with straw purchases. Thanks.
mmmmm...beer 814 Posted May 13, 2015 I'm thinking it has something to do with straw purchases. Thanks. Well I can see if you have two people standing there and the one with the gun in his hand asks the seller to run his friend standing next to him, but just a guy saying, I don't think I'm prohibited. I'd like to buy this gun... can we make sure? Why would that be wrong?
gocolts 300 Posted May 13, 2015 Here is what he told me. A wanted individual tries to buy a firearm. He gets denied and disappears without a trace because a 4473 wasn't done first. Apparently this happened so often, the ATF finally said "fock this" and put a stop to it. Some places (maybe even entire states) will charge you for a background check and reimburse you once it's a proceed. Smart tactic if you ask me.

So it must be he's already got to be trying to purchase. Say "in the process of buying' for that to kick in.
Chronic Husker 85 Posted May 13, 2015 My guess is that it's not very hard for the guys doing the background check to cross reference with guys on paper, etc. If someone gets denied, they know exactly where he is and that he just tried to buy a gun, illegally. gocolts 300 Posted May 13, 2015 So it must be he's already got to be trying to purchase. Say "in the process of buying' for that to kick in. He told me it is because the background check does not involve the home address, so the felon escapes the law because they could not furnish the address. Djgb13 2,339 Posted May 13, 2015 Was at the gun store earlier looking to pick up another 9mm. Any of you have any knowledge on them? I'm looking at either getting a springfield xdm double stack 9mm or a springfield r.o. 1911 compact.
