How contrarian do you have to be to have a shot on million $ tounaments ?

Recommended Posts

If shooting for the top spot, I think one or two long shots have to come through (see T. Benjamin, D. Lewis, C. Gillmore), but I have a hard time with the contrarian picks myself. I'm giving consideration to guys like A. Blue, C. Shorts, and D. Funchess this week.

You have to hit on the random one week wonders like Benjamin. It's almost impossible to guess who that will be. You have to take high upside picks, Alfred blue doesn't cut it.

You need a couple guys to go off who are way under the radar, and it helps to have a few studs who are 'unpopular' on a given week, either because someone else has big hype (Bradford against Dallas last week) or they are in a 'tough' matchup (Rodgers vs Seattle, Brady vs Buffalo last week). Some people mistakenly think 'contrarian' means 'team full of ass-pulls'.

I nominate Brandin Cooks as today's blue plate contrarian special. I'll be benching him in my league and won't have an ounce of DFS ownership in him. Surely he'll go off now.
