The back and forth was hilarious. Got kicked out of the Purple Rose or something like that in Boston on Friday. Good times. I may have been there too. Tommy Hodson was the QB (Grogan probably played too). Can't remember. We went to a lot of Pats games back then because they never sold out. How's this for "how times have changed"; those days I used to go down to Foxboro on Friday nights after work and pick up 15 end zone seats for $25/each. Just park in front of the ticket office, walk up, and hand them $375 in cash and grab 15 tix. Then while we were partying and seeing friends Friday and Saturday night I'd find 15 ppl who wanted to go to the game and then we'd do a big tailgate on Sunday. No prior planning needed, just decide on the way home from work on Friday night to stop by and grab some tickets. Good god was that tailgate scene (and inside the stadium too) like a scene from a Mad Max movie. Just drunks and lunatics everywhere. Certainly not the kind of crowd that could afford to go to a Pats game these days. . . PS - It's the "Black Rose". It's an Irish place just off of Faneuil Hall

Maybe the Purple Shamrock? I don’t know. It was near Northeastern. Buddy of mine met his wife that night. But yeah, Foxboro was awesome. Except that muddy fockin parking lot. Ten guys in a van with bald tires. We waited out the traffic.

Closed for good about 10 yrs ago. You broke the place. There's a place called the White Bull Tavern where the 'rock used to be now (I think). Yes, yes, the muddy parking lots. Dirt lots. There would be a least one person each tailgate who would twist an ankle, eat mud, etc. while we were trying to play drunken football in those sh!tty dirt parking lots. Haven’t been to Fenway in so long and Foxboro will never be the same. Fock it, im hitting Fenway soon, when things straighten up.
