Okay, I know it's a tangent, but I just discovered a new one. It's not actually new. But it's new to me. It's the island of jersey. It is the basis for new jersey. It's in the uk. But it's really freaking independent. I'm not prepared to compare and contrast it to wales, but it seems like it's a basically a tax haven but still subject to the crown officially, but basically has all their own f****** rules.

 

Berts ancestry comes from Catalan. Which is very similar in many respects.

 

I think the ultimate luxury, maybe the reason why there's so many super yachts these days, is to live in a place that is pretty much removed from all the b******* from what other country you want to name. China, America the EU, whatever. 

 

And I guess my last thought on that? Whenever you have billions or trillions of dollars somebody's going to step up and fill that market.

I don't know if you saw the story. But the US Marshals service is responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of all these super yachts that we keep seizing. And if you've ever owned a yacht, which I haven't. But apparently that's incredibly expensive.

Well even smaller boats can be expensive as fock to maintain. I can't imagine a focking yacht the size of those beasts. 

Even if I could afford one, I would pass on buying it. I would probably just have more money in the bank. Or maybe I would just keep buying a new car every year and that would be my extravagant thing. I have everything I need and can't imagine what else I would buy.
