seafoam1 2,799 Posted June 3, 2023 It all started a couple years back with DeShaun Watson doing what he did. My team won the most games in our first year in the league then the next year Watson got sued and suspended. It's a superflex and I only had Stafford as a viable starter going to LA with no other starting QB on my roster. No chance I could win without Watson so I traded Stafford for 2 #1s and started to rebuild as I had veterans. I traded away Keenan Allen and Dalvin Cook and a couple others to go young. Over the next couple years I made a mistake and took Cam Akers over Justin Jefferson but got Breece Hall, and had Calvin Ridley for cheap from another team and some others and kept trading for draft picks etc. This year I had the #1 and #5 picks in the first round of the rookie draft. Screw running backs. I'm ok with Hall, Akers, and Pierce with Singletary and Hunt, Roschon Johnson, Eric Gray, Evan Hall and Charbonnet on the bench. I traded #1 to a guy for #4 and #12 and took Richardson at QB (I now have him and Watson and Ridder and Lance), and at #5 I took Njigba and #12 I got Zay Flowers (Love it. The guy before me at #11 took Rashee Rice). Then Charbonnet at #13 then I traded Pitts for #14 and #17 and took Mingo and LaPorta with those picks and I had also traded earlier and had pick #16 and took R. Johnson as I think he will be good on the Bears. I am supercharged and ready to get back to competing. I love dynasty.

I like seeing rebuilds and narratives of fantasy seasons. there are some here who clearly do not. But I think this is the best way to show people how championships are won (and lost) and a smart fantasy footballer can learn from your your successes (and mistakes) as for the transactions, there are some who would question the wisdom of trading away good players for draft picks. I dont take issue with that myself, but I will say, if you dont think you can nail the draft pick, you shouldnt trade away the player. you would think this is common sense but its not. it is also worth noting that this is a long game type move. you have to be prepared for 2 or 3 rough years before your rebuild takes hold. if you dont have the patience to wait this long, you shouldnt use this strategy. in this case it looks like you nailed it on your picks so congrats. You acted boldly and are now reaping the benefits. I tip my hat to you sir.

Those dudes just log in to criticize I guess. I'm a Bears fan and they hate Fields. I can't wait to see Fields crush it this year and I'll bring up some of those old comments they had on the guy. Even if he fails I'll give credit where credit is due. Anyway, this is my first dynasty league and it's a totally different experience. Four years ago when we started the league I went for the win early and nearly got it. One bad playoff game. But the rebuild has been fun. This year everyone seems to have been putting down this rookie draft so I was able to get picks for good prices. And I think this draft is much deeper than most think. I think there's even an article on this site that says if you don't get Robinson, it's best to trade out of this draft completely. And at least the first round. I disagree completely. Heck, I was happy to get a guy like Evan Hull in the 4th round. There are a lot of good players that came out this year and will be impactful in fantasy. I get it that players like Flowers and Charbonnet got drafted into tough situations, but in the end for dynasty, talent will eventually win out. At least I hope so in these cases.
