BeenHereBefore 1,452 Posted August 1, 2023 Found out about a year and half ago that we had connected sewer lines to the houses on both side of me. Water company put in new lines in the street and basically forcing us to connect to them. So far as of yesterday dug up big tree roots to trees I had removed a few years ago. One worker cut his arm and got stitches and they broke the neighbors gas line.
BeenHereBefore 1,452 Posted August 1, 2023 Worker who went to the ER for stitches was back today, they got the pipes in and most of the yard filled back in. Gas company has to fix the neighbors line and should be done. One plus don't have any grass to cut now.

One worker cut his arm and got stitches and they broke the neighbors gas line. That happened to me after selling my first house a week before closing. No notice was ever sent to us just one day a guy was outside cutting down a tree. Two days later the bulldozer was digging the yard up. The buyer did not want to pay for the hookup fees. It was a mess. Turns out the buyer worked for the County and knew it was coming in. He wanted us to pay for the hookups and he would get the benefit of increased value because of city water and sewer. We just offered to cancel the sale altogether. The buyers ended up paying most of it. We kicked in a thousand and our realtor/broker did the same so as to not lose the commission on the sale..

Yea it's crazy and the house we are connected to on the corner had sewage problems and blamed it on us and the other neighbors when it was his trap that was bad. He caused all this mess complaining to the water company. The neighbors had to pay 5 grand to disconnect theirs and we are paying a little over that for ours. Neighbor that caused it all is getting of free cause his is connected already to the main sewer.

They finished early yesterday but gas company is here fixing the broken neighbors gas pipe and have the whole street dug up now. Would like to get a few movies in before summer ends but don't look like this week.
