Chickie 74 Posted September 3, 2023 Keeper league, superflex. Already own Fields and Tua. Three QB roster spots must be filled via auction. I’ve already got two. Safe play, Mike White as Tua’s backup, or go with an upside QB, like one of the 3 rookies or Howell, Pickett types?
Ray_T 753 Posted September 4, 2023 I'd go pickett of the players mentioned. late last season he showed signs of being a player. thing about the tua situation is you wanna cover all the bases. extra insurance is likely a good thing in your situation. White mike is also an option but hes not actually a starter so he has value to you but less value to everyone else so you can likely wait to the end to get him as a 4th QB but I'd take picket at his ADP (even a little earlier if you wanna make sure you get him) and then grab mike white in the last or second to last round.

Good bit of advice on the Mike White situation. The upside QB I’m looking at is Love, but Pickett or Howell will do as well.

weepaws 3,187 Posted September 4, 2023 If Love is available, he’s the pick.
WhiteWonder 2,732 Posted September 6, 2023 a starting NFL QB. which you will want in a superflex league as superflex leagues are fancy words for 2 QB leagues. Even assuming this is a 10 teamer, there won't be anyone on waivers worth starting during bye weeks so having Fields, Tua and Pickett would be good and as someone mentioned if you want Mike White, you can get him much later.

I think that will be fine. I like Pickett slightly more but the real issue was simply getting another starting QB on your team. Unless your scoring system is set up to greatly devalue QBs, an average starting QB will almost always be the best flex option in "superflex". You will need Love twice during the year or if Fields/Tua misses time.

I was hoping he’d make it to the waiver wire, where I had a punchers chance (12th and last pick). I’ve already engaged the White owner about a possible deal. Preliminarily we’re talking his Howell ($10) and White ($1) for my Love ($16) +. I have 3 ww additional QBs whom I grabbed off ww for a $5 price tag each. Tune, Trask and O’Connell. All three should see action at some point I’m hoping (Jimmy G injury?).

I had both of them ranked very close to each other. close enough that the main reason you would select one over the other is personal preference. you may look deeper to find reasons to draft one over the other..... for example, Love is effectively playing his rookie season as a starter this year. while picket actually has been through his rookie season as a starter. I do think Pickett has better WR to work with now, so that might make him the better play this year. but in an auction 4$ will actually get you one solid player or 2 high upside players late in the draft. (which may give you benefits elsewhere to make up for the cash difference) so like White Wonder said... you are probably fine.
