I did ride a bus from New Orleans to Indianapolis 30 years ago. Took about 24 hours IIRC. 

Met and saw all kinds of weird shet.

Rode a bus when I was eleven by myself to Memphis. CoolPops gave the bus driver fifty and said to take care of me. He did for the most part. There was an angry hippie tripping on sid sitting next to me who thought he was Jesus.
