Interesting Hollywood Note

Recommended Posts

So, when world war II broke out for America, a beautiful young brunette was married to a young man who went off to war. Partly out of boredom and partly to pay the bills, she started working about 60 hours a week in a munitions plant.

I saw pictures of her. And even with 1940s beauty standards, she was fetching, astounding.

Over time, the war effort sent a young photographer to find more "Rosie the riveter" type pictures.  This girl was born for the camera.

From there, she advanced to other modeling gigs.  She was encouraged to straighten her beautiful auburn brown curly hair and dye it blonde.

Personally, I think it was a step down. Yet she was still beautiful.

She went on to much bigger and much better. And most of you will know her when I tell you her name originally was Norma Jean.

But the surprising part? The part I didn't know about? Remember the young photographer who took her pictures?  His commanding officer who sent him to take those pictures was none other than Captain Ronald Reagan.

She sounds like a Candle in the Wind.
