Mike Honcho 5,097 Posted October 9, 2023 Well the cold finally came to West Michigan. Highs in the 50's all weekend. It's 40 degrees out there right now, and I saw a woman in a BMW driving with the top down on the way to work, usually it's the adolescent guys doing that---like me. Bucks, Badgers, Packers and Brewers were undefeated this weekend---helps that only 2 teams played. Oh yeah, it's friggin cold here. On this day in 1992 Action thriller film "Under Siege" directed by Andrew Davis starring Steven Seagal in his most famous role is released - a really fun movie, but man, Seagal is such a bad actor. Every geek, have a great week.

posty 2,612 Posted October 9, 2023 Hey @Mike Honcho, did you ever get the shark tooth that you won recently? Just wondering if you held it up and walked around like you were holding the Stanley Cup? I think I would, if I ever won one...
jerryskids 6,567 Posted October 9, 2023 Good morning all! Well, afternoon now. I just returned from a wonderful two week trip to Italy to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, which is today. Being the yard boy this week -- bulk trash pickup is this week so I'm cutting as much overgrowth as I can before they pick up the piles. Hope you all have a great week! Didn't miss much, same old, same old... Justin had a nationwide alert thread (and nuclear attack) going that they kept deleting and re-posting to "moderate" liberal "attacks"... seafoam was just being themselves... Calling everyone a troll and ranting about nothing in particular and supposedly charging free rent... Rusty and HT discussing things ad nauseum and one poster making much more sense than the other IMO... weepaws spewing bible quotes in a majority of their posts... Posters taking shots at each other when discussing Biden or Trump... There are probably others, I just don't feel like trying to remember what is going on...

Actually the best thing that happened while we were gone was that my youngest daughter got a job in the fashion industry in NYC. You may remember my thread last summer looking for help/suggestions for her to live during an internship there. She has since graduated and moved there 4-6 weeks ago to look for a full time job. The one she got sounds perfect -- doing 3D patternmaking which is the future and which will differentiate her from the older, tech-illiterate folks in the industry (and a lot of the younger ones). It also gives her flexibility to move back to Phoenix if she decides she doesn't like NYC; she can move to other industries (e.g., furniture design) or work remotely as a contractor. I cannot describe how happy it makes me to see my baby girl be successful, and for me to have lived to see all three of my kids successfully start their careers. But yeah, a tooth celebration is in the works.

She's got bewbs She is in Washington Heights. Her roommate is a good friend from here, and is going to Columbia med school for physical therapy, so the location is great for him (he's ghey btw) and she is around the corner from the 1 train which goes down to the fashion district. Also it is rent controlled.
