Anyone work USPS rural routes?

I retired from my job as a consultant at Accenture back in September of 2023. I want to do some work but I don't need to. 

I want to be active and social, so I thought post office. 

I've read stories about city route assistants that they start out working 40 and then they get hit with 70 hour work weeks. 

So I looked at rural carriers. They promise you 1 day a week but you fill in for days off for the regular carrier. 

I passed the 4 main tests back in December and have been offered some city routes as a job but I turned them down and just applied for a couple rural routes over the past couple days that I think I would take.

They are some weird tests. All basically USPS personality tests plus some other shlt that I read up on prior to taking.

Anyone work a rural route? I guess they don't walk as much as city but I currently walk about 6 miles a day anyway to get some fresh air.

Well, you can fossilize if you ever can afford to retire. Not me. 

And what's with the travel shlt? Move around, yeah. Go visit family and friends, yeah. Where are you traveling to every day of your life?
