Saturday Night Movie

Recommended Posts

I'm pretty excited to see this movie.  I think most here will look forward to it as well.  We all grew up watching SNL and still occasionally enjoy their skits.

Hope it surpasses A Futile and Stupid Gesture, which had it's moments, but ultimately was just around average. I gave it about a B-

I went to a Saturday Night Live.  Garth Brooks was the host. Robert Duvall made an appearance.  I was in the second row. It was pretty cool. They have three stages.

That would be cool. Did you have to enter a lottery for tickets?  Also, how large is that audience, I have no idea based on the few shots we see of the crowd.

Friend of a friend was a writer. I’d say the floor goes about 10 rows deep and maybe 8 across and the upper part the same, a bit wider.  It’s not that big.  You’re right up on the stage if you’re close. I got yelled at by security because I stood up when Brooks was walking off at the end. To be fair they did tell us not to stand at all and you can’t go to the bathroom.  And you have to get there around 9pm and wait in the hallway.

Seriously?  That may be the coolest thing I know about you. I’m a bit jealous.

Was it a good show?

It was great. Colin Quinn was doing weekend update and the had a great skit about the Lewinsky saga and a game show with Duvall called my French Hore or something.  Brooks only did one song I believe, but he was pretty good in the skits. It’s cool watching them go from set to set during the commercial and they are setting up for the next skit while one is going on.

That’s the one.

There were some decent skits in that one. I bet it was pretty awesome.

Working in production(have done live news & sports), I'm amazed at what they are able to pull off weekly.  I'd give a weeks salary just to see the entire production from the meeting through the show.  It's very cool that you got to experience that and I'm definitely jealous.  Thanks for sharing.
