Gay Michigan Attorney General Issues New Warning About Donald Trump

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel issued a new warning on Saturday about what a possible second term for former PresidentĀ Donald TrumpĀ might pose, saying that "what we saw in 2020" will "pale in comparison to what we are likely going to see in 2024."

Amid the four-day Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago, Vice PresidentĀ Kamala HarrisĀ formally accepted the Democratic presidential nomination on Thursday and will face off against Trump, the GOP presidential nominee, in November.

Nessel, a Democrat and the state's first openly gay attorney general, took the stage on night three of the DNC as she gave a speech warning against a second Trump term and wished the conservative majority U.S.Ā Supreme CourtĀ good luck prying "this wedding ring from my cold, dead, gay hand."

In a Saturday interview appearance onĀ MSNBC'sĀ The Katie Phang Show, Nessel added to her Wednesday DNC remarks as Phang pointed out her speech "addressed the very real dangers" a second Trump presidency and the current Supreme Court pose.

"There's no question about it. We have a very different [U.S. Supreme] Court now than we had when marriage equality became the law of the land in 2015. We've lost three judges who ruled in the majority on that case. And I think we can't possibly overstate the importance of having Kamala Harris be the one who gets to nominate Supreme Court justices who actually care about protecting people's freedoms, protecting their fundamental rights and who understand and supports due process and equal protection under the law," Michigan's attorney general said.

Phang then asked, "How worried are you about Donald Trump and his allies trying to repeat what they attempted to do four years ago?" noting how Michigan is in the process of prosecuting fake electors who tried to subvert the state's 2020 election results.

It comes after thousands of Trump supporters stormed the U.S Capitol building on January 6, 2021, in an attempt to stopĀ CongressĀ from certifyingĀ Joe Biden's 2020 election victory. The riot erupted following claims from Trump that the election had been stolen from him via widespread voter fraud. Despite there being no evidence to back up his claims, Trump's allies have continued to spread the same claims.

"I think it is probably his number one strategy...I think that what we saw in 2020, it is going to pale in comparison to what we are likely going to see in 2024 and, again, it is not my job to decide winners or losers. It is my job to defend the will of the people, whatever that might be. But I can tell you this: if the will of the people here in Michigan is that they support Kamala Harris as our next president of the United States, it is going to be tough," Nessel said.

Sixteen people who signed paperwork falsely claiming Donald Trump won the 2020 presidential election inĀ MichiganĀ have been criminally charged, Michigan’s attorney general, Dana Nessel, a Democrat, announced on Tuesday.

Michigan was one of several swing states that Trump lost in 2020 in which he and his legal team convened alternate slates of electors as part of an effort to overturn the election. The Tuesday charges mark the first time any of the electors have been charged.

Each of the fake electors was charged with eight felony counts, including multiple counts of forgery, a felony punishable by 14 years in prison in Michigan. The other charges include conspiracy to commit forgery, conspiracy to commitĀ uttering and publishing, conspiracy to commit election law forgery, and election law forgery. The charges were filed in state court in Lansing, the Michigan capital.

The 16 people charged include Meshawn Maddock, a former co-chair of the Michigan Republican party, and Kathy Berden, a national commiteewoman for the Republican National Committee. TheĀ other 14 fake electorsĀ held various connections to the state and local party.

Knowing that Trump lost the election, the 16 electors met in the basement of the Michigan Republican party headquarters on 14 December 2020 – the same day the legitimate electors convened, and three weeks before Congress would meet to certify the election results on 6 January – and knowingly signed ā€œmultiple certificatesā€ falsely proclaiming Trump the winner in their state, Nessel said in a statement. Those certificatesĀ were transmittedĀ to the National Archives in Washington …

Slates of false electors were convened in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, New Mexico, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. In addition to the criminal investigations into the broader scheme, there is also aĀ civil lawsuitĀ in Wisconsin seeking $2.4m from those who signed their names and to block them from serving as electors again.

Link.

Four years and dozens of lawsuits later, the only fraud we can find is the fraud committed by Dirtbag Don and his cronies, seemingly all over the country. :thumbsdown:Ā

Should be jail, not running for president, shame on this country, and voters. Ā Not one candidate is worthy of being the next US president, but voters support their bs by voting for them. Ā  Shame.Ā

Kind of ironic: The law-and-order muh fraud POTUS is a convicted felon with dozens of associates under investigation for fraud. It’s almost like he’s a career grifter and his supporters are willing rubes. šŸ¤”Ā

I guess you have to choose the lesser evil . Choose wisely.Although Donald can be a vulgarian in the environment of today he’s also a pious man Ā . Rest assured Donald is protected by the hand of God . Your choice is an easy one unless you are easily tempted by evilĀ

Donald as never accepted Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior l he’s not protected by God. Ā  My choice is an easy one, I choose Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior, how about You, Which one will you be voting for, it’s not with Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior , you’ve already denying Him. Ā

Being tempted isn’t evil, even Jesus was tempted, Ā the sin is going ahead with that temptation, those with out Jesus don’t repent of their sins, like you and trump, you walk in it. Ā  Amen ThanksĀ

Jesus Christ isn’t on the ballot. There is a choice between good and evil. One side celebrates abortion as a sacrament, I choose theĀ side of good rather than evil. I’m voting for Donald Trump . I suspect you’ll vote for Father Trump
