Sophia Martha Franklin, 16, is three months pregnant, according to the alert, which was issued Monday.

how does this happen?

Age of consent

• In Arkansas, the age of consent is 16. 
   

• A reasonable mistake about a victim's age is not a valid defense against a statutory rape charge.
