Myles Garrett signs 4 year contract through 2030 to...stay with the Browns

Recommended Posts

After requesting the Browns trade him so he could go elsewhere to win a Super Bowl, the Browns on Sunday agreed to terms with Garrett on an four-year, $160 million extension through 2030 worth $40 million a year, including $123.5 million in guarantees.

I guess winning a super bowl wasn’t that important to him after all.

Well, not as important as $123.5M in guaranteed cash.

But seriously, if all of these supposedly "great" players were really all that great, they would be able to elevate the performance level of their teammates to win on their current teams rather than have to go somewhere else to win.

Yeah, something that we will never here a player say today, that was often said in the past, I’ll play for free, the key to my playing career is winning a Super Bowl.

I think the Kenny Pickett trade sealed the deal. Kenny won a Superbowl ring and he's bringing that winning attitude to Cleveland.

While the Browns lock down their star, there are still a number of concerns here.

First on the financial side, the Browns have committed even more of their cap that they are already wringing tight in contracts for Deshaun Watson and Denzel Ward. Garrett's contract makes their resources even tighter.

But perhaps even more concerning are the reports emerging in regard to Garrett's behavior around the team.

“It’s well known within the Browns that Garrett is frequently late to the facility. He has skipped mandatory team activities on multiple occasions,” Jason Lloyd of The Athletic writes.
