Why Blacks Are Poorer than Whites in America || Thomas Sowell

I think a more accurate argument than "low IQ" would be the idea of "low income" impacting people heavily. Just seeing it from a student aged side of things one of the biggest determiners in a kid's education is their family income level. Notably because if a parent has to work multiple jobs to support a family there is less time at home reading with, and working with a kid which will lead to lower test scores and more of an educational struggle. That would eventually manifest into perhaps a lower IQ.

But there are poor white people in that same boat as poor black people even though depending on your area the numbers would skew heavily in one direction or another.

LOL. Generation after generations stay poor after making poor decisions after poor decisions. Gee I under why.

Lack of generational wealth is the #1 reason.

I have never been given 1 cent from anyone in my family, ever. I never went to college, my family sucked.

I've done very well considering.

I’ve met black and white people who grew up dirt poor and had bad parents etc. and ended up successful. That’s the exception to the rule.

Has 0 to do with generational wealth. Has to do with HARD WORK

It has to do with both. But someone born into great circumstances is far more likely to be successful than someone born poor. HTH

Blame the parents. Awesome. That helps a ton. Really making easy for people to continue their family suckitude.

I’m not trying to help anyone. I’m telling you what the top indicator of success is, at least financial success.

You are definitely not trying to help. You are giving people an excuse to continue their families tradition of being poor.

Your family sucks? Too bad for you. Don't try and keep it going!!

That’s not what I said, dimwit. 🤦‍♂️

Hard work, good parents, dumb luck etc. are all factors in success.

I’m not even sure I would call them willfully ignorant. I think many of them made a Faustian bargain: they wanted a better economy and the border under control, and were willing to take the rest of it (or at least didn’t take it seriously.)

Voting on issues is now a Faustian bargain. What a clown.
