I understand the father to have been an army ranger and an avid outdoorsman.  Depending on supplies he may have had in his truck he could live quite comfortably in the forests of Washington this time of year.  Heck, I lack his training and with the supplies I keep in my truck I could survive quite nicely until the weather turns in the fall, assuming I did not injure myself or have sickness or major dental issues.  Fall and winter would be other matters, but he would have plenty of time to migrate south before those came.

 

Hell, it took them years to find Eric Rudolph ande he was on the 10 most wanted list and had a $1,000,000 reward outm for him.

 

Hopefully Decker's demons do not drive him to further violence while he is on the run.
