Democrat senator forcibly removed after crashing DHS Secretary Noem's press conference

A California senator was quickly rushed away from Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem after allegedly "lunging" at her during a press conference addressing the Los Angeles anti-ICE riots.

After loudly speaking over Noem and approaching the podium where she was standing, Sen. Alex Padilla, D-Calif., was pushed out of the room by authorities as they ordered him to put his hands up.

The incident happened shortly after Noem said the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) was "staying here to liberate this city from the socialist and the burdensome leadership that this governor and this mayor have placed on this country and what they have tried to insert into this city."

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said Padilla intentionally did not identify himself as a senator, and was not wearing his Senate security pin.

However, footage captured by Fox News shows him saying, "I'm Senator Alex Padilla, I have questions for the secretary," as he was escorted out of the room.

Noem told The Story's Martha MacCallum that Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) personnel began handcuffing the senator in the hallway, at which point he identified himself, and they ceased action.

Given the climate, with Democrats inviting violence with their rhetoric, I do not blame security for being engaged like that.  But after he identified himself, couldn't they just escort him out and deescalate?  

On the one hand, these people are in a dangerous job, and protecting the current administration is no piece of cake given the violent nature of those on the left. I guess these cops would likely nor realize this was all for show and essentially an act to get some tv time....it would have been nice if they could have foreseen the tactic.

Foreseen the tactic? No. You don't assume. You take action on a threat. They didn't kill the turd. They simply reacted correctly.

I know, I get it. I am sure that was part of the Senator's math on this.  It just sucks that he used them as pawns like he did.....oh well....

It should be punishable in court. Wasting security's hours of pay. How does a senator not know about security? If it was him at the mike and a Republican not identifying himself, what would this guy be crying about now?

It was his plan to do this.

I do not fault him or the Democrats.  Aside from lawfare, they have to hope this kind of theatre drums up violence from their hard core followers, and it spreads.....then their shock troops can get out the violence and harm the good people, so Democrats can the pretend " irs trump" and what not....

I mean, they dont have alot of other options....they have to do this

So as predicted, the Democrat shock troops have been activated and are now going after ICE officers
