Anyone cranking up the grill/smoker

Recommended Posts

For Sundays games?

Keeping it simple, throwing some STL spares and bruschetta on the WSM.  going to smoke the trimming from the Spares for a couple of hours and then cut into bite size pieces, bread them and deep fry them (Rib Tips), serve with Ranch.  Tator salad and cole slaw for sides, nothing special, just good eats for week 1 NFL

The deep fried trimmings sound delicious.

Last weekend was a big smoke weekend for me for FF draft.  Did a bunch of chuck roasts, heat and sweet, cayenne in rub then glazed halfway through with brown sugar and honey.  2 racks back ribs, sausages and wings.

Was thinking of wings again this weekend, or maybe do a bunch of butts and start storing for winter.

Did chicken yesterday for college games.  I've always done bone in thighs but started doing boneless this year.  Over the summer did a Mexican thing, marinate in orange and lime zest and juice.  With fall on the way I went with kinders salt, pepper and garlic and then curry.  Smoked at 250 for an hour, then 300 for 30 mins.  Get up to 180 internal, has a little crust, then dice up, topped with a tomato chutney.

Rain today but still want to get wings out there, and then sausage with peppers onions and jalapenos.  Have a zillion jalapenos I need to use.

For the wings, will sauce with butter and a hot sauce I got called the angry , with some brown sugar to balance out the acidity.

I'm having about 20 people over today. Having it catered by a local BBQ place.

It's actually not crazy expensive and they do it all. Well worth it

I like sitting by the grill with a nice beverage but when you’re having a group over this is a smart move. You can enjoy the guests & day without worry. Money well spent

I’m just throwing these little Brazilian steaks on the grill today I bought at Costco. Have no idea how they are but they sell a lot of them

I mean I guess grilling is technically cooking, but, only a phag would call it that.

A phag that doesn't have enough friends or enough money to ever have any use for catering services.

Yes Sir. I only do this for week 1.

Any other week and I'm probably grilling
