what I want, and i'm sure they exist just not any locally by me, is an indoor facility with real grass like TGL uses for teebox, rough and fairway that they can maintain or swap out.  It's too easy to hit great golf shots off synthetic turf or at least have your bad shots be much less pronounced and I think it hurts the feedback you get from the trackman data.

Agreed. I seem to always hit it well at the driving range. Not so much on the course!

of course. if you hit a fraction more behind the ball than intended, it's just going to skip up off the range turf and give you an acceptable shot / ball flight. On the course that may be a complete chunk or a heavy shot that comes up 10 yards short. 

I have a friend with a membership to our closest indoor place and when we play there he hits massive slices all day. On the real course he hits a lot more dead pulls. I would guess that the turf is keeping his clubface a little more square or even open and his swing path is definitely a slicer. But on a real course his clubface is totally different at impact into the ground.
