America First & Dodgers End This!

Recommended Posts

Yeah, I'm still here watching. Both Will Smith and Teoscar Hernandez hit it well enough to think they were game winning HRs. Toronto walked Ohtani 5 straight times. I don't blame them but I hate that about baseball. Go Dodgers!

18th inning (2 games in 1) and counting...

Horrible managing by Toronto had them rolling out a lineup that was sub MLB standard for most of extras.  If there's a 5% chance that pinch runner at 1st is going to score when the other person couldn't but a 50%+ chance the game is going to continue beyond that inning, it's remarkably dumb to do it.  He ran for most of his best hitters.  Even more egregious was he burned Kirk for a PR, then chose to bunt, which failed.  If you're going to bunt, you expect the guy to be able to get a lead and advance when the 1B crashes.  The fact Straw couldn't execute is even more evidence but even if you assume success, every person who played baseball at any competitive level knows when that 1B goes to crash and you're being sacrificed over you take a huge secondary walking lead.  You can go as far as the 2nd baseman coming in behind you.  You shouldn't need a PR.  Especially if that PR is also a catcher, while Kirk is incredibly slow, it's not like the backup C was Vince Coleman or Willie McGee from the 80s coming out there.
