RedzoneMonster 109 Posted Sunday at 02:32 AM Am I the only one who thinks that 90% of the time a team goes into the hurry up offense they move the ball better? Even an offense that’s been struggling all day seems to suddenly get better. So my question is, why don’t teams just go hurry up 100% if the time? Ok, I know there needs to be substitutions and all, so maybe 80% of the time?
LaChup 257 Posted Sunday at 02:35 AM I agree. Why the no sense of urgency until when the game is on the line at the very end? I would even try to incorporate the hurry up defense if I could.
LaChup 257 Posted Sunday at 02:36 AM Scores would be something like 228-203.
Drogon 25 Posted Sunday at 02:50 AM The O-Line would be dead. Those guys aren't out there because they have great cardiovascular/respiratory systems lol.
Showboat 292 Posted Sunday at 04:39 PM Often, by the time the offense is in hurry-up mode, the defense is going into prevent mode (which is another questionable strategy for another thread), which allows the offense to move the ball in exchange for keeping the clock ticking. Payton is dragging down that offense trying to force the run game
Maximum Overkill 2,464 Posted 14 hours ago Chip Kelly tried it when he was with the Eagles. By the second half both the offense and defense were worn out. They got crushed in second halfs.
polecatt 485 Posted 1 hour ago This has been tried time and time again. It mostly depends on how good the offense is. If I remember correctly the Bills tried this in their 4 super bowl loss period and it worked pretty well for a time.
