I would love to put to a vote the idea of shortening the regular season by 1 week, allowing each playoff week to shift one week earlier and help avoid the sh*t show that was the finals last season. Most teams have to deal with it, but either way it feels weird managing a real lineup all season and then scrambling as normal starters are shut down and bench players are getting starts.

I don't remember how many regular season weeks we have off the top of my head but just subtract one. It's not like we keep record by one win or loss for the week, it's all cumulative by categories anyway

Is it possible to choose how many weeks we play in a free league?  In the past, Yahoo leagues that I've ran didn't only gave a couple of different options (ex 22 weeks or 15 weeks).  If it'll allow us to choose, I'd be fine with reducing the season one or two weeks.

that I am not sure of. I have only run football leagues on Yahoo and I feel like they give you a decent amount of options for what weeks to have the playoffs, though it may be somewhat dependent on how many teams you have making the playoffs.

Absolutely in favor.
And also in favor still of finding a Non-Yahoo free site if we can that is just better.

Does anyone have experience with espn fantasy baseball? I happen to use it for all the FF leagues I run but i do get a lot of complaints about the app.

I don't even use the Yahoo app for this league, I just use the web browser and I don't personally have any complaints with Yahoo.

The Yahoo complaints I feel are more about the stats and player updating as opposed to the app or web interface. I'm indifferent I just know it comes up in discussion almost every year

oh. not sure. I know it gets brought up (mostly by burt) and I always thought one of the main complaints was if you add or drop a player, it reverts any changes you made to your lineup for future days. Which is definitely annoying... but I have no idea if other platforms are the same since this is the only fantasy baseball league I have been in since high school.  (technically been in the keeper league that Ted invited me to but they also used Yahoo)

Shorting it a week will make it unbalanced schedule...  Personally if you guys don't want to play the final week of the season, there are two options IMO...

Keep the regular season at 22 weeks and only the top four make the playoffs...

Switch to roto...

Either way, I would wait to make any decisions until the game is released for the upcoming season and see what is offered, as something better might be available...

Each team won’t be played twice…

How did that work when there were 14 teams? I never really paid attention since we don’t go by single W/L for the week.

It didn't, which was unfortunate...

I just think that with 12 teams and playing everyone twice is a good thing, IMO, but that is just my thoughts on the matter...  Of course you guys can do what you want and need...  The reasoning behind wanting to change it is very sound...

I don't personally think playing each team twice is needed. Yes, it's head to head but with all the categories it doesn't really feel like it is. During the regular season I don't even pay attention to who my opponent is, to be honest. Im just setting the best lineup for myself. I don't think I ever look at a week and am like "oh shiit, I play the Braves"... that comes into play once the playoffs start

Being that past seasons didn't have this "schedule balance", I don't think it's a big deal.

It would sort of be interesting to get rid of weekly matchups all together and move to some sort of system where every week the top 6 in a category get a win and the bottom 6 get a loss.

Now that would be interesting for sure...
