St. Brown, Jahmyr Gibbs, and Jameson Williams all used the celebration, which had them pointing and then pretending to pick their nose, during the 41-34 loss to Los Angeles before an official told one of the Detroit coaches to put an end to it. “We do it on the first drive. Our receiver coach [Scottie Montgomery] comes through after the first drive, ‘Hey man, ref said you guys can’t do that no more,’” St. Brown said on the St. Brown Bros. podcast. “I’m like, what the f–k.” His brother, Equanimeous St. Brown, with whom he co-hosts the show, was shocked upon hearing the story. “Really? You can’t dig in your noose and flick it? That’s crazy,” Equanimeous asked. “Why is that bad? I want to know,” St. Brown then asked. “I want to know. NFL, why can’t I dig in my nose and flick it. There’s no way. What is bad about that? Is that disrespectful… Is that derogatory?” The NFL has played the party pooper before when it comes to reining in Lions players’ celebrations. The NFL handed down a $14,491 fine to Williams after he hugged and slid down the goal post after catching a touchdown pass from Jared Goff in Week 11 against the Eagles. St. Brown finished Sunday’s loss to the Rams with 13 receptions for 164 yards and two touchdowns. His longest reception was a 52-yard catch. All the receptions seemed to have made life tough for St. Brown, who admitted on the podcast that he still had the urge to do the nose-picking celebration “all game, so bad.”
