San Francisco sets up a reparations fund for black residents

Recommended Posts

I think this is greatly overdue because of all the blatant racial discrimination that has gone on there and the overwhelming presence of guilt-plagued white liberals who need to soothe their consciences and don't deserve their oppressor-generated inherited money anyway. Its not funded yet due to a budget shortfall, I recommend they defund the police to pay for it or petition contributions from white liberals across the country.

If Patrisse Cullors isn't busy, perhaps she can oversee the funding.

The measure does not allocate any initial city dollars, a move that may have helped secure support from the board's moderates after repeated years of city budget shortfalls. Instead, the ordinance establishes a framework to receive future contributions - whether through city appropriations or private donations.

So, like, a GoFundMe?  If rich people want to donate to this and earn social justice points for their next party, go for it!

Also I would think that the most oppressed people in SF's history are the coolies.  They should be giving reparations to Chinese people.

Did we really need a second thread on this?

As was noted in the other thread, this is not going to cause SFO taxpayers anything.

Yea, don’t see the need.  Government has been abusing its citizens for a very long time, no matter the race.
