Block your opponent strategy

Recommended Posts

I need to win this week and my opponent desperately needs a RB; I desperately need a TE.

I'm thinking of selecting two of the top RBs this week- Murray and Blount in order to block him from getting one of them. I'm thinking he will try to pick up both and decide later this week which one to play (murray may be injured). I pick after him, so he will probably get his first choice.

Do you think I am wasting my time even bothering to block RB 2 of his choice. Should I be more concerned with getting my stiff TE to replace my stiff TE from last week?

I look forward to reading your thoughts.

TM

You should of moved one of those wrs for a te. Those are all wr2 or better spare watkins

To answer your question, I'd grab Murray if avail, but if its just blount who makes it to your claim I'd go te

I was thinking along this line to. I think my opponent will pick up Murray first so oh well, can't do anything about that. Yeah, I agree with you- why bother with Blount? Heck, Gray may be the man again.

As for channeling my energies on a TE, it's not very exciting to see who is available:

Wright, Rudolph, Ertz, Celek, Allen (who I cut when injured), Paul....they all seem blah. They all can get 0 or 5, and maybe one of them lucks out and gets a td.

Thanks.

FWIW Murray's schedule ahead is brutal vs the run AND are his coaches done limiting his touches? Remember he only got 4 the other day before being hurt.

Also something to keep in mind is be careful when you take away an opponent's options. You could very well force him down to one choice then watch in horror as that one RB goes off this week.

That being said, I'd grab Blount.

Here's what you do:

Priority 1: drop your K for the RB you think is best (prob Blount)

Priority 2: drop your K for the second best RB (Murray)

Priority 3: drop Lewis for the TE you want (which seems to be Rudolph)

Then on Sat night, drop the RB you picked up for a kicker

I like your strategy better than what I did. Here is what I did:

1. He chose Blount before me, so I blocked him by choosing Murray.

2. I then took Rudolph on second pick and dropped Lewis

3. I then picked up Ertz for my third pick and dropped Sammy Watkins. I should have done what you said and dropped my kicker. Then on Saturday I should have picked up my kicker and dropped Murray. Darn.

Oh well, now someone will pick up Sammy Watkins. Thanks for your input.

Hey filthy,

I noticed Murrays schedule is very difficult after St. Louis, but I don't need him for my benefit. This weeks opponent and I are tied for the last playoff spot so winner take all. My opponents number two RB is Sankey. He just picked up Blount and probably would have taken Murray for this week. I made sure he could only use Blount. I could not stop that. You are right, Blount could go off and maybe my opponent would have played Murray. Lol oh well......

Taking the rbs, yes thats a good move. Taking the te is a waste of time since they are all a crapshoot on the wire. That spot should be yet anothe rrb to further muddy his available choices.

I have to have some te so I can't get around that. I'm just trying to pick the lesser of the many evils. Lol

Ertz might get more playing time and Rudolph is beginning to find his legs. Hey, I would be happy with 5 pts (standard).

I normally just try to field the best team I can who will score the most points each week. Trying to get to "cute" like you are almost always backfires.

You are probably right, plus I have too much time on my hands when I am off from work a whole week.
