Last year the QB's weren't ranked high either, but they inevitably went early. opinions? Made just a cursory glance but I'll give you one early take.............I had to do a discount double check to ensure this was a "value to NFL teams" judgement rather than an FF assessment. With the caveat that I have done only preliminary work on these guys.................having Njoku ranked above Howard is laughable in my estimation. I assume he was going for one of those "hot takes" that creates buzz and discussion based on Njoku's athleticism and highlighting what might be an under followed name................ but IMO Njoku is not even in the same zip code as Howard in terms of a complete AND developed TE. Maybe he learns how to block, and maybe he doesn't. Maybe he gets better at running routes and maybe not. Maybe he becomes more adept at hands catching, but maybe he is always going to be a part time body trapper. Don't get me wrong, Njoku is dripping with athletic upside in the same way a guy like Ladarius Green was as a rook, so for FF purposes the sky may be the limit........ but in terms of the way and NFL team values the overall skill set and current level of development vs. potential the 2 are not close IMO. Howard is not far below in terms of athletic profile and far more developed and natural in every facet. Beyond that I think there are serious questions about whether Njoku has the ability to EVER develop as a top notch blocker. Now FF may be an entirely different story. For comparison's sake Howard may suffer from being the better blocker on his team in the future limiting his pass catching role/ceiling vs. Njoku........... but it likely won't be because Howard is incapable, he simply was not used to his pass catching potential at Alabama. I'm not seeing that call in any way shape or form for the real NFL........................for FF however, destination will be crucial initially and then there is a personal question. How do you value floor/ceiling when deciding between the two?
petekrum 20 Posted February 8, 2017 McCaffrey at 21 is way to high. Will never be a feature RB.

Judging by what I've heard here and there from analysts, I'll be more shocked if the QB's of this draft move up than if they move down. I can see this being a year like the 2013 draft. Ray_T 591 Posted February 9, 2017 Judging by what I've heard here and there from analysts, I'll be more shocked if the QB's of this draft move up than if they move down. I can see this being a year like the 2013 draft. maybe... maybe not. there are a lot of teams out there who need QB's. I am sure at least one team will take a QB earlier than they should just because they need one. I thought last year would be like this, but then teams moved up in the draft to get them. at the time I said it was a dumb move to do it. Not because the QB were not good. I just didnt think they were good enough to warrant going 1-2 in the draft. inevitably the hype train always boosts the value of the QB as you get closer to the draft. I would not be surprised at all if one of these guys goes early.

With respect to last year, I was in agreement with you, but I heard a lot of analysts last year talking about Wentz and Goff going top 3-5 as early as November. I'm not hearing the same this year. I've heard a lot of "might" and "could" and not a lot of "will" and "should", when they're talking about first round potential of these QB's. We'll see how it plays out. Kopy 491 Posted February 10, 2017 He's got 9 out of my top 10 in his top 43. Considering he does defense, and the whole offensive side of the ball, I'd say our thinking is about the same. The glaring omission. Joe Mixon no where in sight.
