Keeper Auction League- Trade Antonio Brown for David Johnson?

Recommended Posts

I'm in a keeper league with $100 budget and it's +$5 to keep a player from the previous year.

I'm looking to trade Antonio Brown ($25 to keep) for David Johnson ($7 to keep.) I'm also planning on flipping Lamar Miller ($23 to keep) for D Hopkins ($18 to keep.)

While I think I'm downgrading at positions, it frees up cap space for the draft. In my mind,

Johnson and Hopkins for $25 is greater than Brown and Miller for $48.

What do you think? WHIR

I'd do both deals if I was you, don't know if it'll work though. Give it a shot.

I'm not big on downgrading talent for depth. There are only so many top players and some of the top guys are better than others. Antonio Brown is probably the top player in all of fantasy football right now. You can't replace that top spot.

However, the amount of cash you would be saving should very well get you at least one more top notch player and possibly two.

Don't know who will be keepers but I do know you could get a great start on Ezekiel Elliot.

I would do it.

Without knowing your full roster, i think i would do that deal. That much savings is huge especially for trading a stud for stud. This is probably the last year Brown is keepable at that price, unless you have a lot of cheap studs. Only way i wouldn't do it is if you already have 2+ solid RBs. Having Brown is huge especially if its a ppr.

I dont think Lamar Miller for Hopkins is a downgrade. I'd rather have Hopkins to be honest. And the fact you can save a few bucks makes your team all the better.

Antonio Brown for David Johnson is a tougher one to make. I'd think twice about that one, but if you do make the deal, you will have what may be a top 3 RB and a top 5 WR and have more cash to spend.

where before you had what may be the top WR and a RB who has a high ceiling and a low floor. Many rank him top 5, but I dont think he will perform to his draft position. I'd rank him just inside the top 10.

but if you dont make the brown deal, you could have two WR's in the top 5.

Both are great options.

so I'd say make the Hopkins deal for sure. As for the other one, you need to evaluate your options. part of this means looking at who other teams are likely to keep or dump. that may make your decision easier.

Sorry, forgot to mention that in this league you can only keep one player per position, so I coudn't keep both Brown and Hopkins.

I guess both deals makes sense. you will come out with more cash to spend. That counts for something.

I would do both moves if u can only keep 1 per position. AB>Nuk Johnson>Miller wash. Lamar Miller is not worth 23$. Also u think teams are scared of Osweiler? 8 man fronts all day unlike in Miami.
