Rabid Wookie 0 Posted November 13, 2014 I'm not particularly happy with my QB situation. Currently, I have 3 options (see sig.) and plan to choose my starter based on match-up/hot hand. I'm considering trying to trade for a QB at the trade deadline. In particular, I'm thinking of offering a trade for T.Romo, who's on another team's bench behind A.Rodgers. The manager has M.Ball and a weak RB group, so perhaps offering R.Hillman and C.J.Anderson for Romo makes sense. He'd then be guaranteed to have the starting Denver RB. Analysis: I think Romo is an upgrade over my QBs, though *if* I do a good job of picking the QB each week, some of that benefit might be mitigated. Regarding the other positions, even without a Denver RB, I should be solid with Ingram and Forte as my starting RBs and Beckham Jr. as my flex. Furthermore, the Denver RB situation is unclear currently. One back could eventually distinguish himself, or the situation could revert to RBBC/hot hand. So there's a risk that neither Hillman nor Anderson will perform consistently down the stretch. However, we've seen that if Denver sticks primarily with only one RB, that player can put up some big point totals. If that happens, Hillman and Anderson give me a good shot of being the beneficiary. And if I trade my Denver RBs, then the inconsistent C.Ivory becomes my only real back-up RB/Flex. Thus, if any of my starters get injured or their utilization changes, my replacement options will be limited. So should I shore-up my QB position by trying to nab Romo (and thus deplete my bench depth, which may or may not be needed), or should I take my chances with keeping the Denver RBs and my 3, current QB options? DaBeerz 88 Posted November 13, 2014 If you can get Romo for Hillman + Anderson (given the uncertainty in the Denver backfield right now) I would totally pull the trigger on that. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=440534
rrmcguire 36 Posted November 13, 2014 definitely go Romo....hope that Forte and Ingram hold up the reward of Romo is better than your other QB options, although Cutler is not bad "fantasy" wise just in "real life"
polecatt 489 Posted November 13, 2014 I would try and get Romo. He is extremely consistent and the 3 you have are the opposite of that. You can afford to lose the depth especially if you trade 2 RBs from the same team, neither of which seems to have a hold on the job. As the season winds down depth becomes less of n issue. da browns 10 Posted November 14, 2014 Romo is an upgrade at QB. But, you're relying on 2 stud RBs with little backup. Ingram may score less when Thomas returns. What RB will you get (pick up) to fill out roster. If he agrees, pull the trigger and work for a back up RB by waiver or trade for an excess QB
DaBeerz 88 Posted November 14, 2014 Considering Anderson and Hillman are both WW pickups, you're not losing anything by trading them away for Romo. I think it's a good trade for you, and it gets you out of the muck of figuring out which back is the guy in that crowded Denver backfield.
Bills04 66 Posted November 15, 2014 If I was you, I'd offer the trade. But - with Hillman out for a few weeks, and Anderson clearly (on the Depth Chart, anyway) "just a guy," I'd be surprised if the other Team Owner goes for it. If you included M. Ball, that might be a different story. Thanks for mine.
