RBs that will be available in round 4

hey lets try to keep it civil guys. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and just because their opinion does not jive with yours doesnt mean they are invalid opinions. I'm the first guy to admit I dont agree with everything he says. and he doesnt agree with everything I say, but we do sometimes agree. but that's part of fantasy football. if everyone agreed with your opinion, your best picks would be poached by other players before you got to draft them most of the time. Thats what makes fantasy football great. sometimes he will see something in a player that you dont or vice versa. and thats cool. thats how we learn from each other. and maybe you dont like a guy on the board (it happens) but that doesnt mean every opinion they put up on here is wrong. all I ask is we try to keep things civil so we can have a decent discussion about the topic without making people overly upset.

Best of the bad QBs (super flex or 2 QB)

for sure. lots of teams will go QB-QB in that format. or at worst will draft 2 QB in the first 3 rounds

Best of the bad QBs (super flex or 2 QB)

yeah and the beat writer gets to see the open part of the practice, but not the closed part. that also hinders the reliability. when the team officially releases a depth chart you will know for sure.

Best of the bad QBs (super flex or 2 QB)

yeah i figured. but that means you have a legit chance of having Carr as your QB3. in a 2 QB or superflex league, that's huge. That kind of depth at QB in that format is a huge advantage because there will always be demand for startable QB's and I consider Carr to be startable in that format

Best of the bad QBs (super flex or 2 QB)

if Carr is your QB 25 and you are getting him as your QB3, you jump on that. guy in our league(first place) lost his top QB for the season the week before the trade deadline and paid a kings ransom to get Derek Carr. while he wasnt lighting it on fire, he was good enough to get him to the final. Bryce Young could be a nice pickup too. wouldnt be surprised to see him take a big step forward. ditto for Levis who has a low floor and high ceiling.

    July Mock 2024 Check in

count me in. I have a couple days where my job may prevent me from picking, but I'll send a list in when needed.

    Any Love for Love?

probably. hes probably still discounted because his sample size of good play is yet small. so the certainty isnt there like some of the top QB's. but I personally think he represents very good value at that point in the draft

    Auction League Budget ideas

well, the good thing about an auction is you do not have to get anyone you dont like. I try not to spend big on the first couple players to come out and in a case of CMC given his age and injury history I'd actually avoid him. I'd look at guys a tier down who have upside and go that direction. at an auction I dont ever pick a player who doesnt have significant upside for what I am paying. to that end, I have found that once you get through the first 15 -20 WR, the rest are mostly interchangable. so no point paying a premium for those (unless you feel the possible upside is really high) But for the most part the dropoff from WR20 to WR30 is not huge the last couple years. so the only thing to make sure you get is a WR1 and I'd go a teir below the big money WR that go for top dollar. by saving 10 or 15 bucks at this spot, you can save that cash and spend elsewhere. one thing I will say, is there always seems to be a shortage of RB's once the season starts as a handful always get hurt early. so if you can get extra depth at that position, likely you can unload one at good value once the injuries start to come in . if the injury happens to you, at least your season wont go down the toilet because you drafted well.

    Kyren Williams...

I dont see him sliding that far unless he gets hurt or coach talks about dialing down his playing time or something. I suppose of Corum has a great camp it could bite into his adp too. but I dont see him falling below mid 2nd round.
  10. Ray_T

    Kyren Williams...

thats a bit more reasonable. I've seen him going top half of the first in some mocks. granted, the reliability of some mocks out there are questionable but still.....

    June Mock Winners

thats probably a better indicator. sometimes people dont win because of dumb luck. but if a person is consistently in the top 4 or so and never winning I'd suggest that person is just extremely unlucky.

    Marvin Harrison Jr.

Thats fair. and I guess the question is where to draw the line. my guess is top 20. and most of the lower ones on that list can support a #1 but cannot also support a decent #2(fantasy wise) there are qb in the top 20 that dont feed their #1 enough but those guys typically lose their starting gig within a year if they cannot form a connection with their #1 WR
  13. Ray_T

    Marvin Harrison Jr.

I get that. you dont care where they are rated, but the QB needs to be good enough to feed a #1. My point is that some QB are not that good. and it also depends on which player you evaluate. in the Raiders offense Adams got 175 targets and 1144 yards which seems good, but when you are used to getting 1500 yards its a bit of a haircut. so clearly the QB change made the difference there. most of that is likely efficiency due to having less throws on target. so yeah it does make a difference. Adams is still a #1 WR. but not an elite #1 like he was before. but then again I dont know that. O'Connell is the type of QB that fully meets the threshold of a starting calibre QB. dont get me wrong, I think its amazing that any WR performed that well with him at QB. But in the end, hes not the QB they need him to be. Granted, things may change next year, the kid is young. but he had some ups and downs as young players will have.
  14. Ray_T

    Kyren Williams...

yeah. Corum likely has the most value to whoever owns Kyren Williams. (at least in redraft)
  15. Ray_T

Percentage of Draft Budget to RB position

fair enough. though some of those guys are on such good auction friendly dollar values its likely damn near impossible to get the owner to trade them. I know I wouldnt.

    Kyren Williams...

Rachaad white doesnt suck. but I think his running ability is average at best. 3.6 YPC isnt blowing anybody away. But hes a far better receiver than everyone (myself included) thought he would be and he put up decent points on the ground because of volume. in PPR you gotta love that 64 catch season. thats top 5. with that kind of receiving stats his run game doesnt need to be great for him to be a good fantasy producer. in reality hes a better fantasy player than he is an actual player, but that happens sometimes. that said, I would take Willams ahead of him any day. I dont deny williams is ranked higher than he should be but he should still be able to out produce White for fantasy purposes.

    make an offer

depends on the league. but yeah, I'd say 80% of the time this is the way it shakes out. but sometimes the guy says make an offer because they dont really know what they want from you and they are hoping you'll offer something they like.
  18. hey glad to be seeing you posting on the fftoday board.

its tough when the number one poster is WeePaws.    while some of his opinions are valid, he also spews a bunch of crap at times too.

you're one of the more knowledgeable people on here so I'm glad to see your opinion a bit more often.

    cheers

I wanted to try and be a little more active in discussions over there this year. Admittedly it's tough because I miss the "good ole days" but gotta start somewhere.

      Ray_T

agreed.   we need our most knowledgeable people to participate more.   otherwise guys like Weepaws will drive off the intelligent people and the board will go downhill.   arguably its already happened to an extent but we have a chance to retake the board.       My thought is the boards best assets are the guys who largely participate in the mocks.   all knowledgeable guys but who rarely come online and share their opinions anymore.   I honestly learn as much or more from you guys as I do from the site and the articles posted.    our mocks are top notch.  I dont care what anyone says.

    2024 Top 10 Wr's

I also like London. where I end up ranking him will likely depend on whether Cousins misses time at the start of the year. as he is another player who produced 900 yards with terrible QB play, I have to think hes good for over 1000 if Cousins can stay healthy. possibly more. i.t can be tough to evaluate a player who had such bad QB play up to this point. easy to under or over estimate where to take him.

    2024 Top 10 Te's

I think thats pretty close to where I will likely rank him too (give or take a slot)

    2024 Top 10 Wr's

a lot of people poo poo Tyrod, but hes actually a decent QB. he might have still remained a starter if he didnt have health and durability issues. Not a high end starter mind you, but still better than what they had last year in the wake of the Rodgers injury

    2024 Top 10 Te's

Kelce is a player who, at this point people are paying for the name. at his best he was as good as a WR1. when I had him on my team he gave me a 5-7 point advantage every week (sometimes more). but hes not that player anymore. stats were good last year, but when watching him play, hes just not the same. I think they peppered him with targets because there wasnt enough good alternatives. but hes another year older and the team has more options this year. I personally am avoiding him at his ADP now. There are better options. Laporta being one of them

    2024 Top 10 Wr's

without a doubt. dude was ballin and he didnt even have a starting calibre QB tossing him the ball. the numbers have to improve for 2 big reasons: 1) when the offense can sustain drives all the offensive numbers improve and TD's improve as well 2) Rodgers is 10x the QB of anyone who tossed him the football last year. accuracy is far better too. he should be able to produce as a top 10 (probably top 5) Wr. the only question is whether Rodgers can remain healthy for a full season. Hes probably fine but at this age coming off a major injury it is not a given anymore. this offense should not even remotely resemble the gong show they had as an offense last year. it will be fun to watch I suspect.

then the girls could post pictures of the football players and do pretend makeovers with a computer and everyone will giggle and think its great.

    Chiefs WR's

a lot of players who have tons of stuff going on off the field seem to have trouble keeping it together on the field. Even if no suspension happens, I'd be very careful about paying for Rice. I suspect Brown may end up being a bigger player in this offense than a lot of people think
