IMPORTANT RE: DRAFT

i don't like it when a commish throws his weight around but this is ridiculous right now so...

 

here's how it's gonna go...you don't like it?

 

tough...EVERYONE had chance to step up to be commish and NO ONE did.

 

CHARGERSFAN OR WHOEVER HASN'T REGISTERED AT YAHOO...PLEASE DO ASAP.

can't do anything till this is done.

i singled out chargers b/c he's the only one who's addie isn't on coach's list at yahoo.

 

DRAFT

-will stay open till 9pm PST on MONDAY SEPT.1st

after that DRAFT IS CLOSED.

 

-FROM 9pm PST on THAT MONDAY SEPT.1st till 9pm PST on TUESDAY SEPT.2nd EACH OWNER WILL INPUT THEIR OWN ROSTERS AT YAHOO.

plenty of time even if you're just a night poster and for either time zone.

i'm going on 'honor' system here but also so i don't have to review everyone's roster, EACH OWNER WILL DOUBLE CHECK ROSTER OF THEIR 1ST WEEK OPPONENT...any discrepencies please post on our board.

 

-ALSO MONDAY SEPT.1st till TUESDAY SEPT.2nd, EACH OWNER WILL EM ME 15 PLAYERS RANKED ACCORDING TO PREFERENCE(again good chunk of time for everyone to have access)...FIRST PRIORITY GOES TO LOWEST(FASTEST)DRAFT TIME.

if we started this today, dalem would have first dibs on players to FILL HIS ROSTER...and so on.

 

this is INCENTIVE FOR THOSE WHO HAVE TAKEN LONGER ON THEIR PICKS...if draft finishes before monday night then we stay w/draft order and you pick at your position...if we don't finish then those that have taken longer will have last choices.

 

-9pm PST on TUESDAY SEPT.2nd i will prioritize the choices and see who gets who and add to each owner's respective rosters...if i run out of players on someone's list i will contact that owner.

 

-BY MORNING OF WEDNESDAY SEPT.3rd everyone will NO LONGER HAVE ACCESS TO INPUTTING ROSTERS BUT WILL BE ABLE TO SET LINE-UP.

 

let me add that i REALLY DON'T WANT to have to go thru and prioritize 14 lists of 15 players so LET'S FINISH THIS DRAFT BOYS!!!

I don't think that's changed, so you're probably going to have to do that yourself.

another option will be to cut off the draft at whatever date that allows rosters to be entered and then allow for free agency to fill in the rest of the rosters after week 1.

 

In other words, if we finish 15 rounds, so be it and we play week 1 and then allow free agency to happen.

 

The problem is that some may not have a kicker yet or another position.

 

The FAs should not be a first come first serve situation. This idea needs a bit more thought and refinement.

i thought about that...will look into when actual FA starts.

 

first come, first serve is how yahoo is set up for FA's...only if a player is dropped from a roster does he go into yahoo's waiver ranking process(worst gets first).

 

we could do it how many league do it where i lock out FA p/ups and then folks em me a list of picks.

 

but was trying to not do that much as commish.

I really don't like the idea of giving the people with shorter draft times higher priority...I've mentioned my situation which has prevented me from making my picks as often as I'd like, btw, I read your email Nan and appreciate it.

 

Ya, we'd be rewarding the people with quicker times, but it would be fairer, and no more of a hassle to just keep going with the draft order. Everyone sends in their rankings and you draft by that for the rest of the time.

 

Also, Is it possible we can set up a live draft for a weekend or is that impossible with people's schedule?

I hear what you're saying, and agree that mitigating circumstances make it seem unfair. However, this draft is sucking the joy of fantasy football out of me to the point that I don't care. Just give me a team. I pre-drafted half a round ahead to try and get this thing moving. I don't think it's unreasonable, at this point, to ask others to do the same.

 

Ideal? No. But if we're going to get the season going, necessary.

 

I don't want to be snotty, but I'm afraid that my attitude will be to toss the league to the side, if the general malaise towards the draft continues. I don't play like that. It's "un-fun."

i share everyone's frustrations but come on don't get down on the league.

 

i was fortunate enough to be recruited into this last year and it's by far the most COMPETITIVE i've been a part of...not to mention alot of fun.

 

i, too am at the pt that i don't care...just give me a squad.

 

obviously this was getting out of hand, felt i had to give a push to get things going.

i have 1 draft on sunday the 31st and another on tuesday the 1st plus a consultation gig i got going that week. and now sounds like i will have to input all rosters, so time constraints were becoming a serious issue.

 

since i posted the thread, the only glitch has been probert who has access problems...everyone else has seemed to jump on board and got this thing rolling.

 

we'll be likely thru rnd 10 tomorrow w/9 days till deadline...i HONESTLY think we'll get thru it.

 

we'll get there boys and then the good vibe will be back.
